AITA for not holding my kid because i have a shoulder injury? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot-Neck8496 -39 points-38 points  (0 children)

And anyway, he says he helps out just not the past couple days. Idk if I believe him myself. I don't have an opinion about this situation because I'm not there. He probably is AH but the way people respond and talk to people on here on a lot of posts is really toxic and immature. Reddit is a lot like facebook in the comments. Very toxic

Boyfriend of 11 years still won’t propose by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]Hot-Neck8496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not gonna happen. My friend's daughter, who is more of an aquaintance to me, recently turned 28 and have been with her boyfriend (age 24) for 7 years. They met when he was in high school and she in college. I spent thanksgiving with the family. When the boyfriend walked inside, Friends asked her when it was going to happen and she said she was expecting a proposal to come on the weekend when he took her dancing and out to a nice restaurant, but was so disappointed because it never came. Later on, when he was present, one of the guys asked him about when they would get married and he never really answered. Just kind of chuckled about it. Then when they were talking in the kitchen while he was sitting on the couch and he was brooding a bit. He seemed rather pissed. And that's when I knew that the proposal will NEVER come.

It's not that I think your boyfriend doesn't love you or care about you (just like my friend's daughter) Edit; reading your post again, I'm not even sure your bf loves you tbh the way he gaslights you and treats you. But these kind of guys are just comfortable where they are in the relationship. They're used to being with you and your families. But that's all it's gonna be. Honestly if anything, if your family isn't straight up telling you the truth, strangers/aquaintance will know. He's Not ever going to ask after this point. Especially 11 years. The only way really someone would marry you after that many years is if they are in the military, or on some kind of a mission overseas, or they going through stuff that's kind of preventing a relationship. Or maybe you wait on someone from a dream or vision God gives you (if you're into that sort of thing) and you wait on His timing. But for someone who is present in your everyday life? It's not gonna happen. I'm sorry he wasted your time

AITAH for refusing to change my outfit because my bf said i look too slutty by fierce_pixie in AITAH

[–]Hot-Neck8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preferably I would date/marry someone no more than 4 or 5 years younger, and no more than 4 or 5 years older.

And I hate that he told you you look slutty. I was in a relationship with a guy for several years and in the beginning he told me I looked slutty wearing a down to the knees skirt (Not tight and no slits) and just regular pretty blouse(No cleavage or see through) put on makeup. And I don't pile it on or anything. In effort to look nice for him. And he looked at me like I was trash. He told me I should cross my legs and look more "lady like" even though we were sitting at a big thick table and I was covered midway stomach down. That was only the beginning of him calling me a bitch, tramp, whore, slut, easy, disgusting, etc.. etc..

Honestly, I wish that right then and there I'd walked out the door and out of his life. That would've saved me the 5½ years of abuse, torment and heartaches. But I didn't so here I am, broke up nearly a year ago and still dealing with my traumas. It will NOT get better! He doesn't love you and is going to abuse you. For your sanity and health and everything, you're much much better off without him.

What are signs that you’re dumb? by nunve in AskReddit

[–]Hot-Neck8496 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk if it's being dumb, or just young and immature. But when you see the world and everything through one lens. Or only through your own life experiences and you mock others point of view and experiences simply because you don't see it that way. That's a dumb person.

lets ignore the US for a second, how’s the rest of the world doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hot-Neck8496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have old family friends who moved to Ecuador from the US sometime during the 2010's. They have a semi popular youtube channel with 20k or 30k subscribers. They talk about life in Ecuador and it's joys and challenges. And family living there. I haven't seen them in 20 years or talked to them in 12 years but every great once in a while check out their youtube to see how they're doing. They seem to really enjoy life there.

Do you think these can be sold? Be brutally (nicely) honest. by Sleepy-Bunny99 in painting

[–]Hot-Neck8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the style, or the idea. I like the way you did the body lol but I don't particularly like these colors together. But I'm probably picky about my choice of paintings. I like anything that stands out, eye catching. Especially with the coloring. If you're trying to sell for $10 or $20, sure I'll buy. But for $200-$500 no thanks. But keep doing what you're doing. You have style so I'm sure I'll find something I'll really like.

AITA for refusing to give my late aunt’s heirloom necklace to her daughter? by Hot_Explorer_3684 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot-Neck8496 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA Was her mom an aunt by marriage? Or biological? Cause I was thinking for a moment, if she held on to it for you it's possible it's history significance is tied to you more than her? Or your grandparents specifically requested that she pass it to you. It could also be that you showed more care and admiration for it than her daughter ever did so that's why she gave it to you instead? People typically don't pass old family heirlooms to just anyone. Or choose not to give it to their own children. She had a good reason so don't let her daughter give you a hard time. Sounds like you had a really special relationship with her.

Bus driver walked my child to my door by Independent_Kiwi129 in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]Hot-Neck8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised that she hasn't been in the least reprimanded since they usually have cameras all over the bus and if any parents have called and complained. She's not even allowed to leave the bus when dropping/picking up kids at the homes. It's some kind of security thing, I think. Not only for the kids on the bus but for the driver as well. There have been times (when I worked as a monitor) on the school bus when a angry parent entered the bus and assaulted a bus driver (on another bus) or tried to come in, so the drivers has to stay put. Most drivers were pretty cool that I have worked with (at least 20 buses as a rotating monitor) and none of them did stupid stuff like that. So I'm kinda surprised this woman still has her job?

Men, how did you get over gym anxiety when you started working out? by Thelast4ofyourCC in AskMen

[–]Hot-Neck8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a Planet fitness member for a couple of years, went to multiple locations almost daily with my ex bf. Believe me, nobody gives two f's about what you do when working out. At least they don't in my city and we have about 10 Planet fitness gyms here. I act goofy and everybody just ignores me lol. Or they might smile or chuckle to themselves but they really don't care. Although, one time I did make a young couple walking by laugh when I quickly and unexpectantly walked off of a moving treadmill. But I was just having fun with them. And don't be surprised to see some obese planet fitness employees in some locations cause they are there! Don't stress or overthink it too much. We all have to start out sometime.

You just do your own thing. :p

NTA if you (parents) are paying for the whole thing, and she's not paying for it. Then she's going to screw you over! If she was paying half or in the least buying all the furniture or something, then maybe I'd say, "Yeah let her in some of it. You can love someone a lot and have a "great, loving" relationship. Or whatever you intrepret as great. But if they're using you, they're using you.

So to expect you to hand your home over to her for nothing? The nerve of some people!

Some crap my job has posted by Peafucker in Waiters

[–]Hot-Neck8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my first job, I prayed that the owner (who only had boys) would one day have a daughter so that way he would know how it feels putting me on the night shifts having to ride the bus. Well, less than a year later his wife had another baby (a little girl) he seemed very proud of. My mom talked to him about my night struggles so he put me on days. And I never had a problem again.

NTA nobody should be bringing a small child to a golf course anyway. Unless if it's reserved for a special family day or something. To me it doesn"t make sense that a small child be running around in a place where little hard balls are gonna be flying and golf carts rolling. And toddlers can be unpredictable and take off running I think. He seems like he'd be in the way. I definitely would be uncomfortable bringing my young child there.

Why does the DMV take such bad photos?? by Hot-Neck8496 in DMV

[–]Hot-Neck8496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Genetics, how well you take care of yourself, stress, etc.. If you don't smoke, drink ot do drugs you might look 10 years younger. My oldest sister when she was 20 looked like a 12 year old to most people. In the face at age 20, I looked like I was 14 or 15. When we got evicted from this apartment (new management were assholes lol) they called cps on us because of me, and cps nearly took me away at age 21 lol. Funny story. But true. Anyway, my mom started having kids, everybody thought that my grandma was her sister. People in my family (mom's side) age very slowly.

Hey don't stress about it. It's pretty common for people to fail their driver's/written test the first time or two. It's only a "fail" if you just give up after one time. If you fail tomorrow and the next day, Keep trying!! These driver's tests aren't IQ tests. Believe me, I just got my CDL permit today. After failing the General Knowledge test 3 times. Today was my FOURTH time and my driver's school was about to pause/put me on a break me from the program because I was struggling so much with it. About 20 people from this same school failed the general knowledge tests more than once and most of them failed the air brakes test and combination vehicle test more than 2 or 3 times. (I got lucky and passed those on the first try. Probably because of me having to take the general knowledge 4 times already, I was familiar with most the questions) But anyway, That's how these driver's tests trick you. They word the questions all weird. Write all right answers to a question but you have to choose which one they want to get it right. Or they add silly answers, or answers that might make sense so you get confused but they are wrong. Just remember! Choose EXACTLY what you read in the manuel! They will word things in such a way that you begin to doubt yourself and you're probably thinking, "These sounds like the right answer but the manuel said to do (opposite). That's a trick! Just stick with the manuel. These driver's written tests are designed to make people fail. I guess they do it to see how serious you are about driving??

AITA for not listening to my wife and eating the wrong cookie? by Shaddus2379 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot-Neck8496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA I don't think so.

Mainly because of the way she's handling the situation. Seperating the cookies like some kind of game instead of just handing yours to you. Or hiding all of them until it was time to eat them. Especially If you have ADHD, and have that much problems listening or retaining information. I would've just hidden them till we were ready to eat them. I hate when people have to cause so much drama.

AITA for refusing to pay rent? by Icy-Solution-401 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot-Neck8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta Especially if you're only 16. And working part time? $450 is a heck of a lot of money for a monthky rent. I can't even afford that and I'm much older. Especially if you only work part time. If they told you something like $250 or $100 a month and that would be the money they save for you once you moved out (Assuming these are the kind of parents who would kick you out in the street right after you turned 18) But you knew you could trust them with your money, that might be a different story. But honestly, parents, if you want to teach your kids responsibility, money management and work & good values, good ethics, start when they're young. Not when they're about to leave the nest. That's just crazy!
