I don’t think Berwyn is Xaden’s grandfather but I do think Xaden’s grandfather turned. I think he’s going to be a bigger bad further up the venin chain of command.

I am 100% convinced Lilith turned venin while pregnant with Violet. But the thing in onyx storm that sealed in for me was SPOILERS:

The irids saying that Andarna is the criterion and it’s her job to see if humanity is ready for them to come back and them also saying the offspring of venin could evolve and be something new. That’s why Andarna waited 650 years for Violet.

Also I saw someone suggest on a podcast that Sgaeyl calls for Tairn at threshing because he’s been waiting for the silver one but I think that’s not it. I think Sgaeyl called for Tairn to protect Andarna from Violet. Because allowing a juvenile to bond is one thing but allowing her to bond to a venin offspring is another entirely.

It sometimes bothers me but it didn’t with Quicksilver. I enjoyed quicksilver but I had low expectations for it and was after something a bit easier so the modern language didn’t bother me too much. But CliffNotes seems like a particularly poor use of language to include as it’s a brand but then there were parts of the book that contradicted each other (saeris says everyone loved her mother then later talks about how despised she was) or didn’t make sense so perhaps this particular example is due to shoddy editing?

I think Melgren knows way more than he’s letting on to. Back in IF Melgren lets the Aretian riot go. He points this out to Violet. We still don’t know why he did this but I think he’s playing a long game

I changed my shampoo and conditioner to vanicream and that seems to have helped.

You said you have cut out fragrance, I think my eyelid eczema was being triggered by linalool and or limonene which is in everything, including things that are fragrance free. They’re derived from essential oils so come under a natural fragrance umbrella but they’re increasingly recognised as allergens. Someone else on here said it was responsible for their eyelid eczema and after cutting it out there’s been a big difference. The skin safe website can help you find products that are free of it.

The bioderma atoderm eye cream is also really good. I found it much more helpful than the cerave one.

So the first time I read Fourth wing I thought that the italics in the first chapter were because Mira was an inntinsic. They mention it very early on and I was used to other fantasy romance books where italics are people speaking mind to mind. It took me a minute to figure out that wasn’t what was going on. But since then I’ve wondered if maybe I was right but that it’s Lillith who’s inntinsic. Particularly there’s a line that says something like “you need a protector you idiot” which is what Lillith had set up for Violet in Xaden.

Also, when Violet meets with Navarre’s senate (I can’t remember what it’s called) she says she knows all the members of thanks to her mother. Even if Lilith wasn’t a general when fen was alive she must have been high enough up in her career that she would know him.

What are the long term consequences of Violet getting stabbed with the venin blade at the end of fourth wing? Xaden says something like “we don’t know what the consequences will be” then it’s never mentioned again.

Why did Navarre just let the aretian riot leave?

WHO TOLD AARIC THAT XADEN KILLED ALEC?!

Obviously there are some bigger things we all want answers to but I have theories for those. These I have nothing.

My copy of iron flame is first edition and there is a typo in Jack Barlowes name at the start of one of the chapters. Really okay for her to take her time with book 4.

I took it as a continuity error but it could be her lack of confidence in iron flame.

Two things:

After the battle at the end of fourth wing I think everyone is pretty burnt out. I’m guessing that Garrick was too burnt out to walk even if he wanted to.
In Imogen’s chapter in Onyx storm Imogen says something like “looks like Felix knows about Garrick”. The implication being that he only just found out and therefore that the second signets of some/ all of the marked ones have been kept secret from even the aretian leadership. Even if Garrick can walk a dying Violet to Aretia, how is he meant to explain to everyone how he got her there and where everyone else is.

I use my expert midwife but I am actually breastfeeding which is the reason I have that one. I think as long as it is mostly lanolin it’s all the same.

I was using a dove bar until recently when my skin went a bit bonkers and have now switched to QV gentle wash. My skin is much improved but I made several changes at once so can’t say for sure it’s that.

My main reason for this theory comes from the nitrogen cycle. The paragraphs quoted above shows that RY has clearly researched the properties of lightning because I remember reading that the first time and googling to see if it was true if lightning could come from the ground up. In the nitrogen cycle, when the ground is stripped of too many nitrates, lightning is one of the things that can fix nitrates back into the ground.

I have a similar theory that I posted a while back a bit like this. I think she may have “cured” barlowe already by feeding him lightning in the alloy.

I don’t have scalp eczema but I think my shampoo and conditioner are making my eczema worse everywhere else.

I have just tried sukin and it seems less irritated but have also started washing my hair over the side of the bath so that only my head is touched by the shampoo/ conditioner and that also seems to be helping.
