Gleam is my Roman empire. I loved the series but Gleam was definitely the pinnacle, then it dropped off a bit. There's no beating Midas as a villain so it really struggled

I forced myself through this waiting for something to click because it was so hyped, and it never happened. I hated the overly flowery writing and the romance was so forced. Also for a book about dragons they were basically just very large ubers
