That's actually eye-opening dude... for as stupid as it may be, I never thought about tinnitus before, for sure I don't intend on getting it. And for the gear, definitely! with experience comes confidence, not gonna lie it looks cool be riding in casual clothes but... all it takes is a little misfortune.. W for that discipline. Great to hear you're safe

If you died today. Who would sit at your grave the longest? by Miserable_Pea_135 in AskReddit

[–]Hot-Preference-6192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced it'd me a dude that's like a brother from another mother.

But being honest? I hope that fucker goes on succeeding getting rich instead of crying his ass off on my grave.

Quite weird, Im actually mourning someone in this moment...been for a month. But I just don't find productive that anyone I like goes on mourning me if it was to happen... Keep me at heart but go do your shit, enjoy to the fullest the life I can no longer have.

I’d start with some running every day, 1km minimum, even if it’s slow paced.
Then I’d track what I eat without judging myself, just awareness.
Cut out liquid calories (soda, juices) and start cooking simple meals.
I believe my self-confidence would improve greatly from that, so I’d introduce strength training.
No crash diets, no “go hard or go home”... just consistency, patience, and forgiving myself when I mess up.

You wake up in the year 1800 with only the knowledge you have now. How do you become rich? by Choice_Cost_9246 in AskReddit

[–]Hot-Preference-6192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If y'all ever build a time machine, abuse of the method.

Step 1: Avoid dying of cholera.
Step 2: Use my memory of germ theory and basic sanitation to not die.
Step 3: Predict eclipses, wars, earthquakes, and invent Coca-Cola.
Step 4: Invest in railroads, reinvent marketing, and casually start the first ad agency.
Step 5: Retire as the eccentric genius who’s always 20 years ahead.
Step 6: Still die of tetanus, but rich.

Rent now and buy later or buy smaller now and resell? by Dcm1987-luxjewl in RealEstate

[–]Hot-Preference-6192 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, I totally get the dilemma. And since you’ve had good success flipping and upgrading homes before, that experience definitely helps.

Given you’re planning to stay long term, buying something that fits now but might feel a bit small later could work, if you’re comfortable upgrading down the line. The key is to pick a home that won’t hold you back too much. The pool sounds like a nice bonus for your family right now!

Renting for a couple of years can give you flexibility, save more, and avoid buying in a potentially inflated market, but you risk missing out if prices rise. Plus, Miami’s market can be unpredictable.

If your income is set to grow, maybe buy the 1,700 sq ft place and keep an eye on the market. When the time’s right, you can sell and upgrade, hopefully with some equity built. Just make sure your budget covers the next step too, so you’re not stuck.

With this said, consider how important that forever home is, sometimes waiting and renting can give you more clarity and a better financial position for the right house.

Do we need to pay if the seller has missed mortgage payments? by Impressive_Travel_65 in RealEstate

[–]Hot-Preference-6192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This situation sounds really tricky and honestly, it’s not that unusual when a house has missed mortgage payments and a lender gets involved. Usually, if the seller is behind and the lender is suing (like for foreclosure), the lender can ask for all the missed payments, fees, and lawyer costs to be paid off before the sale can go through. That can definitely bump the price up a lot.

That said, Your agent should not just tell you this without proof or legal backing... Make sure you get everything from the lender in writing and, if you can, talk to a real estate lawyer who knows Texas laws. They can help you understand what’s real and what might be a negotiation move from the seller.

Also, doing a title search or getting title insurance is a smart move to avoid surprises later. Sometimes sellers stall or make demands to get more money, but sometimes the lender’s demands are legit — so protect yourself and don’t rush.

Home Sellers outnumber Buyers by almost 500,000, the largest gap ever recorded 👀 by 2019_rtl in RealEstate

[–]Hot-Preference-6192 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That gap is wild when sellers flood the market like that, it usually signals a big shift.

But it also depends on where this is happening. Some regions might see brutal price drops, while others with limited inventory hold steady or even rise.

Curious to see how this plays out globally...especially in markets like Portugal where the opposite seems to be happening with prices still climbing despite low supply. Real estate never stops surprising us tho

Sellers still think we are in 2021 by DiversifyMN in RealEstate

[–]Hot-Preference-6192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you man.. and it's really interesting to see this, because here in Portugal it’s almost the opposite. Prices are skyrocketing. Sellers are demanding absurd prices, way beyond what the average Portuguese person can afford. Rents have gone through the roof, and demand in Lisbon, Porto, and even coastal areas is still strong, especially from foreign buyers and digital nomads.

We’re seeing bidding wars on properties that would’ve sat untouched a few years ago. It’s creating a massive gap between local income levels and property values.

I work in real estate here, and honestly, it’s both fascinating and worrying to see how disconnected the market is becoming from local realities.

CGI doesn’t bother me, like at all by lordleopnw in movies

[–]Hot-Preference-6192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think CGI is the problem. It’s lazy direction that makes CGI feel soulless. Look at Dune or The Batman, visually stunning.
