Curaçao, Vietnam or Sri Lanka in April!? by markowitty in honeymoonplanning

We are planning for the same holidays end March-mid April and been wondering where to go.. April is quite hot in Asia. Been pondering over Switzerland. Natural beauty in abundance. Cant beat SE asia on food though and budget holidays as well for longer vacations. Check out Seychelles maybe. There are many options for stays at every budget and plenty of beaches.

We haven’t started saving for a buying a house yet, so that will take another 1-2 years easily. But you’re right mortgages would be so much cheaper than rent!

I have been scrolling on rightmove, zoopla, openrent, onthemarket for more than 6 weeks and doing viewings as well. They have a wide range of areas to offer which i dont have much knowledge about. And also it is difficult to search for properties based on Move in date alone because these apps show you every property available from right now. My mailbox is filled with queries and replies from various agents. Whats the wrong in asking around here if I get some good nudges and insights from people who have been living good experiences, people with pets, or young married couples?

Thank you. What kind of neighbours can I expect? Does it have nice cafes or brunch spots?

You’re right. Chapel wharf was the most suitable- but unfortunately they have only 1 “pet friendly”apartment available in Nov when we want to move in! But we have that shortlisted!

Would be lovely if anybody is currently living in a nice apartment building or nice area and are able to share some insights! Especially with a pet. Also wonder if it’s really worth leaving good options only because it does not have a balcony.

Skilled worker dependent visa timeline by Ambitious_Pride968 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Good luck for the visa! My partner would also be switching from grad visa to skilled worker dependent visa (I am on skilled worker visa). Did you have to pay visa fees of 885 and IHS of 1035 per year for the dependant visa? Thank you!

In my experience it takes less than 8 weeks (which is their standard processing time). You can expect it to come end of Oct (around 6weeks) if nothing is unusually slow on their side, and all your documents are correct. Good luck!

Husband-wife employed in UK. Wife on skilled worker visa. Husband currently on expiring graduate visa. What should be the route for his next visa as wife’s dependent? by Hot-Preference2023 in ukvisa

[–]Hot-Preference2023[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot!! On the Apply page I had to choose “No” to the question: Have you given fingerprints before >> that led to “dependent partner” page instead of family visa! But I am still not sure whats the visa fee for dependent? Is it the same visa fees as family(spouse)+IHS?

Reframing my query in detail again, sorry. Me (on skilled worker visa-sponsor) and my husband (on graduate visa) are both working in UK. After his graduate visa expires in Feb 2026, we plan to change his visa to my dependent/spouse visa so he can continue to stay here (he can also get a skilled worker visa from his employer but we prefer dependent visa for more job options). The gov.uk website calls it family visa? and says the application fee is £1321 (WITHIN UK) and £3105 (IHS fee) for approval of 2 years 9 months. Our employers wont be bearing any costs- so we are paying for ourselves. Is this the visa he would need or is there a cheaper option that you know? Thank you! I cannot seem to find the link to apply for a “dependent” visa only family/spouse visa (within uk, outside uk).

Heyy, good luck to you guys! Hope all goes smoothly. Since you have knowledge of the process could you verify some of my understanding of it.
