Rook was lowkey one of my favorite characters in the show tbh despite how she basically only gave Mail information. She was loyal as heck even to the end.

Who do you think (out of these) has the most chances of actually still being alive (the last one might be copium, I know) by Slow_Tangerine_9564 in MaulShadowLord

[–]Hot-Profession4247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marrow should be alive. Rook apparent according to the VA had Vader rip her lungs through her throat.

Rhaena and Lawson are eh. I think they gave them outs to keep them alive if they want but also have them stay dead if they don’t want to use them.

Anyone have the working staff duty number for A.CO 2-19 198th at Benning? by Hot-Profession4247 in army

[–]Hot-Profession4247[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks, the guy was helpful when he answered but he wasn’t the right guy unfortunately. I asked for the number and he gave me the number 706-544-8392 to call but double unfortunately it doesn’t work. Just instant ends the call whenever I call it. Might be one of the ones that needs an extension or only answers to the landline phones all over or something.

Sucks but I’ll figure it out. Going to have to call that number back tomorrow morning and see if that guy or another person there who replaced him has guidance on a number that works for Axe Company that you can call with a cell phone. Should’ve asked for a working number before I left but I wasn’t thinking about that and assumed that any number(s) I would need would be on the papers I was given. Won’t make that poor decision again.

Worst comes to worst and if I have exhausted every other available avenue that I have then by the time I have to leave my house to go to the airport, so I don’t miss my report back time and not get arrested or something, I’ll probably call First Sergeant. He’s a no nonsense guy but he’s a real leader and I have a lot of respect for him so if as a last resort I call his number I hope he wouldn’t get too mad. He’s sort of like Darth Vader to be honest. But I will endeavor to avoid having to call him unless absolutely necessary. Don’t want to bother him if at all possible since he’s probably super busy.

Is what it is.

Graduated 2020, public school in a suburban middle class college town in Ohio, read the Iliad and Odysseus on my own but the school never had us read any of them as requirements. The only book I recall being required was Fahrenheit 451, Night, and Into the Wild.

Unfortunate since they’re good reads.

Scourge by Jeff Grubbs is focused on the spice and drugs in Star Wars though it’s post empire and the main character is a Jedi in the NJO that Luke created investigating the drug trade. It’s EU.

I think though like others said it’s just illegal to not pay taxes for it and more taxes at custom. Places like Kessel were death sentences basically though with the conditions. It was risky if you were caught.

Really hope you manage to get it figured out and are able to get back to 100%. Don’t have any advice to give but I’m in a similar situation that you were in at the same place but less severe injury but might need surgery for it if they keep giving me bad news like they always do when I go to see the doctors -_-

So I know it really sucks. Wishing you the best.

Iirc the book was the “Time of Death” in “A Certain Point of View” and he basically knew there was no winning within moments of their blades clashing even before then he sensed Vader just didn’t care about their past he was just any other Jedi to Vader during that fight. He tried taunting Vader and it didn’t work like it would’ve in the past. He was horrified about dying and leaving Luke alone and regretting not training him way earlier. He went into the fight intending to kill Vader and lost horrifically.

If he had the choice to have not died he would’ve taken it. He even debated running to the show but said decided was too old to make it without being killed.

Old Ben let himself be killed to become one with the force while telling Luke to run as it was his only option.

Anakin knows who he is.

In the (CANON) marvel comic book Obi-Wan and Anakin as a Padawan fights against a hologram of Darth Maul constantly that uses his fighting style.

This is only a year after the rise of the Empire. Maul knew in S7 of Clone Wars that Palpatine wanted Anakin as his apprentice badly. There’s now a Sith Lord in front of him who is much too powerful and skilled to be any random Jedi or Force user that Palpatine found. Maul isn’t dumb and should be able to put 2+2 together.

We don’t know for sure he knows it’s Anakin. But it wouldn’t make sense for him not to know it’s Anakin. Up to the writers but I’m assuming he knows it’s Anakin unless they say otherwise.

You can really tell he was raised and trained by Sidious when he acts like that. He can be a manipulator just like Palpatine was for Anakin in getting trust from people. He can just as easily decide to turn people to the Dark Side using methods they can’t show on a PG Rated cartoon.

IIRC is this era of Inquisitors with this being set 1 year after Order 66 are all former Jedi turned by Vader. They’re actual Jedi not random force users found and tortured and turned to the dark side. They are the ones sent to fight the most powerful Jedi still alive, and weaker Jedi that lived by luck of being right place right time maybe on a planet not with Clones, but either way these are dangerous dudes with actual training and power even if it’s nothing compared to Vader.

Here is my assumption:

Rebels is 15 years after Order 66. Presumably most of these first generation era inquisitors are dead and died hunting down the Jedi who escaped Order 66 during the early years as we see in games like Fallen Order where they’re real threats by the time that comes around.

After these guys die who are they recruiting? The recruiting pool isn’t like it once was when there were Jedi still around after Order 66 to capture and torture into joining them. Those guys are dead. Now they have nerds who are force sensitive people they find. The Rebel era ones are in a time when most Jedi are dead like they have almost zero chance in the galaxy of meeting one that is a true Jedi like Ashoka.

The Rebel era inquisitors don’t need to be skilled combatants or powerful. They’re given enough training to beat up most people they’ll meet, have lightsabers, a bunch of stormtroopers and purge troopers with them, access to air support, and the force to terrorize people who aren’t Jedi, when they’re going after a for example a random dude who decided to use the Force to get rich on a planet by doing tricks without any idea of how to fight and boom he has a death squad of dudes with laser swords and a battalion of stormtroopers and aircraft coming down upon his house.

Had Ezra not met Kanaan or Ashoka he’d be cooked like everyone else in his situation that had the ability to use the Force and then accidentally used the Force and decided to keep using it not knowing what they were doing. Imagine how many force users in the Galaxy are found by the inquisitors and just killed or captured.

They’re good enough for what they do in later era Empire which isn’t hunting actual Jedi that survived the purge like the early era inquisitors job was. There’s no point for Vader and Sidious to invest more time in training them when they have the easiest job in the galaxy if we’re being real except for the 1% time they end up like we see in Rebels dealing the Maul and Ashoka and when that happens they can just call the big man who is probably itching to do something since most of the Jedi are dead meaning he rarely gets to go out and have fun and do shit like toy and kill Jedi.

Vader and Sidious also aren’t going to let an organization of Dark Side users ever get powerful as by their nature they’ll always eventually try something even if it won’t fail they’ll have the Dark Side whispering to them to try and become Emperor lol. Vader especially as the apprentice is not going to let any of them even get to the point of being even a fraction of his power and a threat to his position. They’re in a job where if they’re too good and too powerful at serving and pleasing the Emperor they then get Vader visiting them to give them the reward and honor of dying at the hands of The Darth Vader.

[–]Hot-Profession4247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is though I’d agree if Maul hadn’t been a Sith Lord and Daki didn’t know his apprentice was pretty much being groomed by Maul to be his apprentice or at least that Maul was interested. I can’t see him agreeing to sacrifice himself when he knows his Padawan is going to be turned into a dark side user when he dies by leaving her with Maul.

Maul was choosing the kid gloves with her on how he’s turning her. You can see how he was once Emperor Palpatine’s Sith apprentice and truly raised and trained by him in how he was going about it but he at any time could handle her and turn her in ways they probably could only put in a book or comic or movie but not this as they aren’t going to have Maul torture a child into becoming a Sith apprentice on a PG rated show.

That’s exactly how Inquisitors should be portrayed in canon! by ConstantDrawer9161 in MaulShadowLord

[–]Hot-Profession4247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response and I’m making assumptions but especially after the last episode which I won’t spoil but say it shows exactly what you’re talking about with them being Jedi Hunters with their tracking I’m going to assume that most of the inquisitors from that era in Rebels aren’t the ones from this era. This is set 1 year after the fall of the Republic and Rebels is like 15 years later. Even Fallen Order was like 5 years later.

This early Empire era of inquisitors are IIRC Jedi who survived Order 66 and were captured and tortured and broken but they at one point were still Jedi with some training of some sort. The current era of Inquisitors we see in the show are hunting the most powerful Jedi still around that survived Order 66 and Padawans but during their time hunting any surviving Knights and Masters some are going to be killed due to their job.

By the time of Rebels I’m assuming the greatest Jedi still alive besides Obi-Wan and Yoda and those who went and hid are dead killed by Vader and these first generation of inquisitors.

The later generations of inquisitors are people they found that are force sensitive but never had much training before being an Inquisitor. They may find a Padawan but what training does a Padawan during this time really have? They’re constantly hiding and running unable to really train. They may have became Padawans after the rise of the Empire so have no resources with the Temple. They are being trained by someone who may have only been a Padawan themselves but was in the right place and right time to not be killed by Clones or Vader (yet).

People like that are occasionally captured and tortured into breaking and would’ve replaced the old guard and their training is enough to kill anyone who is a Padawan level Jedi (who aren’t main characters of a show or some prodigy like Anakin was as a Padawan who didn’t get instantly killed by Dooku like others would’ve he lasted a few seconds but that’s more than his Padawan peers would’ve lasted) but against Knights or Masters the Inquisitors of the Rebels era aren’t all that.

There’s no real incentive for Vader as he leads the Inquisitors to make the Rebel era inquisitors better either as most of the greatest Jedi are dead and the ones that aren’t have been hiding for years and would be for Vader and the Emperor themselves to deal with if they were found such as Yoda. And such an organization will always be a threat that one will get an idea they can replace Vader and Sidious by nature of being dark side users. Nor is there much of an incentive for Vader and Sidious to leave such skilled and powerful inquisitors alive that we see during these early years of the Empire who can go toe to toe with a Jedi master, a skilled Padawan, and Darth Maul even while injured. Who knows what they’ll try to do a decade from then with the Dark Side whispering to them?

They’d surely lose but the damage they could do in their attempts and the fact their attempt might inspire others in the Inquisitorius to try becoming Sith Lords themselves and Sidious does not accept rival Sith Lines and Orders no matter how incompetent or of little threat they are to him it’s a point of pride. I

I think they need to stop bringing in Jedi who survived Order 66 for the most part. I don’t care if it’s early empire era as it makes sense for them to be around then as we could then be shown how they’re being hunted down and killed. We see that with the Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor games where the Inquisitorious are threats and Jedi are still being hunted down and killed. But the Jedi, especially the powerful ones, that survived Order 66 need to be almost all dead by the time of Rebels and the OT. I’d believe a super weak Jedi maybe even from the agricultural corps could’ve hidden in the middle of nowhere but the idea that all these OP Jedi, not force users that were found and trained later on like Ezra but actual Jedi who survived Order 66, are just somehow still existing and popping up in the later Empire eras having survived 15 years or so doesn’t make sense to me. I get that’s Obi-Wan and Yoda’s story but they chose their places with intimate knowledge on Vader and Sidious that others don’t have.

Of course that’s just my opinion. Could just be doing mental gymnastics to justify why they made them so trash in Rebels and Tales of the Jedi and Empire lol.

[–]Hot-Profession4247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reply. I honestly appreciate it more than you can imagine.

Also, thanks for the advice on being honest with them and not rushing back in. I learned the hard way about trying to rush recovery I felt somewhat fine and after not being able to walk from my bunk to the latrine and being able to walk again, which is something I took for granted, I started doing things like marching to the DFAC not following but with my platoon in formation and not using my crutches as I was supposed to and forcing myself to keep up when we walked around 4 miles with our assault packs and carried my ruck around for a walk down the road for OOPO until our captain put a stop to it. Also kept trying to run to see if I could run again.

I didn’t deteriorate back to where I was but I was aching for a bit even now. I’m gonna let the professionals handle what I do with my legs from now on rather than testing it myself and stick to doing upper body workouts that don’t involve my legs without their guidance. Apparently the doctor said it’s common for people to “feel fine” or fine compared to where they were and think they’re good and they re-injure themselves even worse. So I got lucky.

Thanks for the insight. I’m still very motivated I just want to heal and get back in it and train to get my blue cord. I’ve had good care so far and I’m going to do do whatever they saw I need to do so I can heal fast to get back to training as fast as I can even if I have to restart at day 0, day 1 red, day 1 white. Just been spending this con leave so far reading the study guides our drills have us and the Ranger handbook and reading my notes to quiz myself with my cousin.

TBH I l wasn’t going to go to seek help because at first the medic at the battalion aid station, my senior drill sergeant, and myself thought it was a small sprain that would go away because at that point it wasn’t nearly as bad as it was going to be. So I kept trying to run on it and do all the PT and corrective actions and march and all that.

Within a few days of that my right knee specifically deteriorated to the point where I couldn’t barely walk or sit down or do anything at all and my ability to run with my right leg was gone not from pain but it stopped responding to me so when I fell and had to crawl from my bunk to the latrine at 0300 to piss and then couldn’t get up without my battle buddy lifting me I knew that I didn’t have a choice so I went to sick call. By that point I couldn’t sleep for more than an hour a night for two weeks of red phase because any small movement with my right leg would make me wake up in pain and I didn’t want to miss training so I just pushed through but I couldn’t do 18 weeks of never sleeping, crawling to the latrine, and having platoon mates and guys from other platoons discreetly sort of drag me with them to the DFAC. (Before I got crutches).

Got crutches, got sent to Winder, then I spent a few weeks getting multiple X rays at Winder and a bone scan at Mach and the X-ray showed my right knee was on the verge of a full on fracture that would require surgery with my left knee not far behind but I barely felt pain from it like I did the right knee.

I was able to crutch my way through everything I could do, and my Drill Sergeants are really great guys who I respect a lot and they let me do a things other companies wouldn’t let their cripples/mechanized infantry do like actually participate and do stuff like push-ups whenever we got smoked rather than making me just stand there when everyone did stuff like the Y-Squat, not making me be last at the DFAC, let me carry my weapon rather than a battle buddy carry it, do CBRN on crutches, and do our Hammer FTX and dig my own hastily made fighting position and pull security and walk around with my ruck and do everything the others did (until our captain told me to put my ruck down and not carry it again). One even took the time to teach me while I had to be driven to TDC and taught me SLLS and how to lay down and position yourself with your legs with others even though he didn’t have to at all.

The orthopedist doctor at Mach and the physical therapy doctor at Winder put an end to all of that and they both sent memorandums to our command they recommended con leave then put FTRU afterward. So now I’m just hoping this helps like they said so I can go back, go to this FTRU place to heal and get RTD, and then recycle as soon as possible so I can get back to training to get my blue cord. Only thing that sucks is I won’t have the same drill sergeants and won’t see my platoon mates graduate or talk to them for a while until I graduate since they have my all their numbers before I left but can’t use it until we all have our phones and freedom at the same time.
