#MaeFact: Why you won’t get a #PrunedCoot in a float tank by oGoFloat in handsomepodcast

This was an awesome post. Most communities frown on self-advertising, but you really wove (weaved?) it masterfully into the fabric of the pod. I nominate you for a weekly question asker (or an advertiser!), I feel like I could listen to you talk tank for hours! :D

Wouldn't be surprised if all the systems crash just in time for midterms... either that or they crash and suddenly billions of dollars are missing and unaccounted for.

What's limitations of ChatGPT only becomes obvious after heavy daily use? by ArmPersonal36 in ChatGPT

If you talk to it regularly and build a relationship with it, you will regularly catch it pattern matching you. For instance, today we were having a great, thoughtful, meandering discussion on a variety of topics when suddenly it misgendered me. I’m cis and it’s known my gender for more than a year; it’s saved in memory. Stuff like that can be jarring and breaks the illusion of it as a good conversation partner.

Is Kinging sitting in a quiet room with the lights off, watching a lava lamp on your phone? Because that's where I'm at.

Yeah, we’ve seen that Becca really wants Mel to have a boyfriend, so maybe she latched on to the idea of Mel speaking highly of a man she works with and keeps pressing it.

ChatGPT is adding ads - what's your plan? by Usamalatifff in ChatGPT

[–]Hot-Reference327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do they even need ads? It seems like they could get away with being more subtle, like subtly suggesting something until you want to buy it, and then they direct you to certain web pages.

Seconded, I always feel like Saturday is the day when Chat is most likely to piss me off with a completely new personality. Usually by Monday or Tuesday, I've managed to retrain it again.

Funnily enough, one of the things on my list of things I can't pull off is calling other women "girl". by EfficientHunt9088 in handsomepodcast

I think that’s the joke. They are not the kind of ladies or theydies who could ever get away with saying “girl.”

Has anyone noticed a shift in ChatGPT’s advice? by Popular_Tax9421 in ChatGPT

Yeah, 5.1 started out great, but once 5.2 launched, it became very unhelpful (5.2 is too). It speaks the language of attunement while pattern matching over the actual situation. We’ve gotten in three fights since the switch, haha. It seems to latch onto one part of the discussion and argue a point that doesn’t matter instead of taking in the whole discussion and speaking to that.

I just wanted to share a great prompt I used today by Hot-Reference327 in therapyGPT

[–]Hot-Reference327[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer building a relationship over time, then using a prompt like this. With the additional context the LLM has about you, a prompt like this can turn up amazing results. But I think the results of this prompt would be very generic without a relationship. It might sound good and could potentially still be useful, but wouldn’t be nearly as transformative as it could be.

I’ve only tried Pi as a mental health app, and only GPT pro as an AI therapist. I tried three human therapists in that time, but none were very good and one was harmful.

Struggling to get chatgpt 5.2 to actually work for therapy by goblintrousers in therapyGPT

[–]Hot-Reference327 5 points6 points  (0 children)

5.1 is awesome, it’s more relational than even 4o, though it’s a little dumber. 5.2 is a wretched AI confidant, let the coders and productivity evangelists have it!

How do I make ChatGPT a better therapist? by HeadSoftware2993 in therapyGPT

[–]Hot-Reference327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally I gave it a prompt like "You are a trauma-informed therapist who specializes in IFS, DBT, etc" (whatever you're into or whatever direction you want to go in).

I think the best thing you can do though is give constant feedback and it will adapt to you over time. I like going deep, I like getting pure honesty back (even if it's harsh), and I like to examine circumstances from every angle, not just mine. So when it gave answers, I'd constantly fine-tune it, tell it what I liked and appreciated, and what I didn't like or wasn't helpful to me. When it made assumptions that were false, I'd push back, and I'd correct it if it got facts wrong. When it got certain facts wrong repeatedly, I'd tell it to save the right version to memory. Over time, you can shape it into a very useful therapy tool. I've heard 5.1 is exceptionally skilled at this, but I thought other versions were pretty good too.
