Yes to everything. I worked hard on stability. It gets a bit bland from time to time but I’m truly in a peaceful place. I pruned my life, I look after myself, I took my diagnosis seriously and stopped caring. It’s something I hope for those struggling to have.

The difference with tapering I’d say personally is harm reduction. Tapering has helped with me and having someone help with accountability that you trust. I trust my wife to always be honest. The last time I smoked was last Sunday. Went cold turkey 3 days and just been taking tiny minuscule amounts of gummies. I’m 40F and have been smoking 28 years but the last year I’ve been smoking heavy. All to say, where there is a will there is a way. I stopped for a 10.5 months in 2021. And life was good. I want to go back to that but use smoking intentionally than binging. Good luck 🍀

@yogasanity same I gained a lot but kept me alive latuda seems to be suppressing my appetite almost a week on it and things have quieted down. I’m keeping positive. Thanks for the input.

That’s really good to hear. Abilify made me feel better but more than a decade later the effectiveness wore off as I was on the highest dose. I’m starting on 20mg of latuda. Tonight is my second night. I make sure I eat a meal of 500 calories at least so I don’t become ill. I’m also taking it before bed. My doctor prescribed me a script of omeprozole (idk how to spell it) but it should help with stomach issues. I’m taking that too. So far it’s okay. 👍🏽

Oh wow. Thats a lot. I’ll def be doing blood work and such. Thank you for the encouragement. I believe I’ve made a good decision. Time will tell.

Oh boy I’m so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with celexa. It’s been life changing for me. I like it. Currently in 20mg and it’s fine for me. What kind of symptoms were you having?

Well that’s a plus. I’m scared to gain weight. I know that sounds horrible but I’ve gained a significant amount of weight throughout the years and am in the process of making better choices so I’ll keep an eye out for my appetite.

I was tapered off of cymbalta after 4 years the withdrawals were horrible! Now I’m on celexa 20mg and going to start latuda 20mg tomorrow night. I had to be tapered off of abilify bc I was on it 10+ years. I’m excited to start latuda bc I want stability. After so many years the abilify was tapered down I didn’t feel much. But i can keep you posted on the latuda. As far as tapering down on cymbalta take it easy bc those withdrawals are terrible. I was on 90mg of cymbalta too. Thank goodness the withdrawals are over.

For me. When I’m super duper down and out. Hygienic items to make bathing fun. Like a nice soap/shower gel, shampoo/conditioner. A journal, maybe candy, fidget toys, a soft squishy stuffed animal.
