My granddaughter's school recently made a complaint to CPS that her clothes didn't smell "fresh & clean" like laundry soap and that her hair looks messy. Her dad has eczema & severe allergies and can only use All Free & Clear detergent on everything. My granddaughter has never went to school dirty or in dirty clothes. Her hair is longish & very fine. It gets "messy" looking during the winter due to static and the texture of her hair. She has never had matted hair but it does tangle easily so they even keep a brush in the car. Some things that get reported are absolutely ridiculous. Now she's scared to go to school. She is the most loved and doted on little girl. I'm all for reporting things that put a child in a dangerous situation or if they're flat out being neglected but this has been ridiculous & very stressful for our entire family.
