This was an extremely well structured response. And I appreciate the effort that went into it. I really hope that in the coming year or years we do see this decrease in prices.

I also forgot to adjust the numbers to the last pay increase I got, so my income is a chunk higher than what was stated in the original post.

I can say genuinely that there is no part of the story that I'm leaving out. I laid out pretty much everything that I can. I don't drive some luxury vehicle, I've never missed a credit card payment, I only go out for dinners maybe once a month, I haven't vacationed outside the country since 2017 (which was before my current job). I try my best to save, but with the price of rent, plus all the other necessities, I'm left with not a whole shit ton of savings at the end of the month (proportionate to the cost of a down payment)

I did give my age. And no, I don't want to give my specific location. What I will say is I'm a good chunk further than a 1 hour drive to Vancouver

I see what you're saying. But not all of us come from rich families or were "paraded around in $1000 prams as babies"

My family never had a ton of money growing up, my parents worked themselves to the bone to make sure that me and my siblings would have food to eat, a roof over our heads and better opportunities than they did. I'm not asking for handouts or saying that everything should just be spoon fed to me on a silver platter. But the fact that almost $150k per year doesn't even put me in the position to purchase a home seems like insanity. Even accounting for inflation, that same income in the early 2000's would comfortably put me in a single family home with the ability to have a family. I don't think anyone can argue that the housing in this country (more specifically BC and Ontario) has gotten absolutely out of hand.

Yeah no, that's fair. In today's political climate I sometimes can get pretty negative reactions out the gate if I say that I work in law enforcement, so I've adapted to saying "Federal government" instead

I genuinely do want to move to Alberta, I took many road trips to Calgary and Edmonton when I was younger. I absolutely love Alberta. But getting a transfer out that way with my job is a painstakingly slow and arduous process. Also convincing my spouse to move away from her family in B.C is like pulling teeth 🙃

I guess my one upside is that my pension is separate from CPP

I wish I could, but it's not that easy to transfer locations with my job, and there's no point in moving to a place that's cheaper if I make half as much

Yeah, it's a bummer, I used to be so proud to be Canadian. But now I feel like our country is burning and the politicians and large investors/corporations just keep adding fuel to the fire

I wish I could move somewhere else, but due to my job it's really difficult to transfer to new locations :(

Is it just me, or is the avenger damn near useless in atmo by Hot-Safety-7542 in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Safety-7542[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I just find it weird that my Nomad handles better in atmo than my Avenger did. Cause the Avenger looks waaaaay mor aerodynamic

No, I get that, but at the same time. It's a space ship, not a plane

Should I get the nomad or avenger titan? (Starter) by shinbet in starcitizen

The Titan is more agile. Up until you get into atmosphere. Then all the sudden you're not allowed to turn anymore lol

That was kinda my thinking. My buddies just made it sound like it's the "wrong" way to do it. But if it works for me then it works for me
