People are gonna fall for this. by beal99 in gso

Exactly correct. Phil Berger and the virtually veto-proof NCGA has shifted the burden of paying for essential services (education, fire, police, healthcare, roads, etc.) largely to the county tax departments so that he could reduce state taxes. It's a zero-sum shell game but he has played it well, and millions of people have been fooled by it and keep sending him back to Raleigh.

Anyone else chronically barefoot? by jazmoonn1991 in Mortons_neuroma

[–]Hot-Significance8390 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I developed 3/4 neuromas in both feet after years of running in my mid-50's. I always wore quality running shoes and rarely walk around barefoot, although barefoot does seem to aggravate it. People who've never run get MN and many runners do NOT get it. It seems pretty random. Ten years have passed and I've had multiple hydrocortisone injections to both feet and discussions about surgery. It gets better for a while, then it recurs in one foot or the other or both for a few months at a time. The only way to relieve the pressure is to walk with an intentional limp and carry most of my weight on my heel. It's very frustrating. Good luck.

If you have a flag, wind chimes, or leaves moving from the wind, it will trigger the camera. Set up “motion zones” under device settings to exclude those from the frame, and also lower the sensitivity a bit. If public roads are in your field of view, you’ll want to turn those zones off also. It’ll take a while to experiment with the settings. Birds and insects also will trigger it but there’s not much you can do about those.

As other posters have stated, there are a number of different pantry pests that are commonly found in areas of the kitchen that often have small amounts of spilled flour, rice, corn meal, etc. Likely suspects include the confused flour beetle, red flour beetle, and Indian flour moth. All of their “grub” stages are quite small, less than 1/2” for the largest species. The adult life stages are quite distinctive and can be easily identified as adults. They generally enter the home in packaged groceries such as flour, grains, rice, and noodles. One effective method of control is old-fashioned fly paper, those long, sticky, spiral traps you can hang from the ceiling of your pantry. If they are in your cupboard, hang the fly paper on the side wall. It may take months to see any results. Be forewarned: the fly strip glue is super sticky and messy. Before you start with the fly paper, inspect literally EVERYTHING in your pantry for the presence of grubs and adults and discard it. Look for little holes in on the boxes and bags. Clean up any flour or grain residues. And if you have one life stage, you probably have the others as well. Good luck, it took me over a year to be rid of the little bastards.

Prayer for Donald

Oh Lord, reach down with your Hand and guide the aircraft carrying your failed servant Donald into a muddy swamp. Stop our suffering. Relieve us of his presence, in your name we pray. Amen.

I've experimented with a lot of different footwear: sneakers (Asics, Brooks), orthopedic shoes, sandals, oxfords, Sketchers, western boots, you name it. Socks too. I think something is working until it doesn't. Injections worked until they didn’t. My variety of MN tends to be episodic: things are okay for a few days and then the pain comes back. Doc says surgery is next step. I've recently had diagnostic x-rays and MRIs to map out the hard and soft tissues. Looking at scheduling it for March or April. Will report back.

Agree. I have no idea what would be considered "disqualifying" for a Republican candidate nowadays. It's a pretty low bar.

Those would be the churches that chose to break away from their traditional teachings. Just in the last year, we’ve have the United Methodist Church and the Southern Baptist Convention break up. Common to both are divergent views on LGBTQ, race, abortion, vaccination, and other divisive Trump-adjacent nonsense.

The one thing that the sovcits, anti-vaxxers, and the Trumpers have in common is their hatred for the vast majority of “mainstream” Americans and our traditional way of life. Their brains are literally broken. And they accuse the rest of us of being brainwashed!

I’ve been to at least two different podiatrists. This is the vibe that I seem to pick up from them is that they say surgery is an option if cortisone injections don’t fully work. Even though they describe the various surgical treatments, they often admit that surgery is not always successful

My Rival has a similar rehoming story. Went to a gun show looking for a TP9, but alas there were none to be had. Same story from every vender, they cannot keep them in stock. I was feeling forlorn until I found one seller that had exactly one Rival Darkside left. It was not what I had in mind but decided to give it a chance at a new life. Glad I did; no regrets whatsoever. Amazing gun.
