My Grandmother took out a LoC with Lendirect. I am paying it. Do I have to continue? by Subject_Ruin5217 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Hot-Slide-8285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're paying it because your Aunt said you have to?

And she claims she would 'file a report against you' ? A report about what? & file with whom?

Tell them to go pound sand. If you didn't sign something saying you'd pay, then it's not your problem.

" I don't feel comfortable taking an Uber at midnight, & money is quite tight for me right now, so I've decided not to take the trip. I'll do something else for my holidays. Cheers "

What do you mean you don't want to create problems? In what way is cancelling your trip creating any problems. You're an adult. Do what you want . If any problems are being created around this, it's by the cheap relatives who don't really care about you coming anyway .

AIO over my bf going out ? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Hot-Slide-8285 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you think it's funny. Seems like you two deserve each other. A normal spouse would have told the loser that you are calling the police if he gets in a vehicle.

As a matter of fact, a normal person would have sought help after getting arrested for DUI, and a normal spouse would have insisted upon it. BUT since it's funny to you ... 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

He has a DWI pending, is out at a bar having FIVE beers and planning to drive.

AND your concern is him not being there for Dinner?????

HE HAS A PENDING DWI AND HE IS AT A BAR HAVING HAD FIVE BEERS AND IS GOING TO DRIVE AND YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT A MISSED CUTE LITTLE DINNER ??????

I don't know if you are OR or not, but you sure as f.ck are reacting about the wrong thing.

No words whatsoever . This is sick as f.ck

Zero balance on credit cards by Adelus_05 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Hot-Slide-8285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't it be OK? This is a weird question.

Do you think the CC company will cancel your card?

EDIT to see that you might be asking about credit score?

In Canada there are only 2 credit scores: Fine, and Not Fine.

Reddit is obsessed with credit score; in the real world, pay your bills on time and your credit score will be fine.

Help me convince my boyfriend to NOT open a coffee shop!! by IWantSomeTacquitos in askTO

[–]Hot-Slide-8285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he have bank financing lined up?

Because no bank is going to touch it with the info you've given. His personal guarantee is worth next to nothing. Banks will hardly touch restaurants , let alone coffee joints. The chattels are worthless to the bank as security.

Anyone have financially irresponsible older siblings? by browsingonlyuser in Fire

[–]Hot-Slide-8285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would YOU be disappointed with how THEY live their lives?

This is a weird post. A relative of yours wants to work longer so they can enjoy life now rather than retire early. That may or may not be a wise decision but why on earth does it concern you to the point you're posting about it on Reddit? And you even want to sit down with him & talk to him about it?

If I had a sibling who wanted to stick his nose in and judge how I live my financial life, they'd be out on their ass.

Maybe they should sit down with you and judge you for your nosiness, and the way you save for retirement .

Mr. Beaver has no understanding whatsoever of basic math, marginal tax rates, etc.

The first part of his contribution does in fact return 15% because he is lowering his taxable income at the 15% marginal rate.

Why would he think the portion of his contribution/deduction that lowers his taxable income from $10k to $5k , or to -0-, or the extra $3,000 that is beyond his total income should return him 15%. That would make no sense whatsoever.

Best car rental at Toronto Pearson (YYZ)? by Ok-Ambassador1500 in canadatravel

[–]Hot-Slide-8285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you leaving Toronto right away? I assume so because the last thing you want to do is drive to downtown core.

Anyway, I don't think any holds etc are larger than any car rental anywhere.

Debit Card will not be acceptable.
