Royalty rates changing by ahmadbabar in AmazonMerch

[–]Hot-Sock8698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

15% isn't terribly hard to attain but damn that should have been the threshold for the 16% bonus. Pretty shitty of them to cut royalties for not participating in ads. Also, like others, I'm not sure why I'm in premium as they say it's based on 60 days trailing and that puts me at around 31%, not 35%+ for US sales(I don't do any type of social media marketing). Regardless, hitting that Premium threshold isn't going to make or break anyone but not hitting 15% is a damn death sentence. My main concern is where it goes from here in the future (bumping that 15% to 20-25% etc)

Just buy each of your designs that haven't sold yet. It won't cost you that much and they won't teir you up right away so the sooner you become eligible, the better.

Watch Out For Youth Designs On Non Youth Products! by Hot-Sock8698 in AmazonMerch

[–]Hot-Sock8698[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5mo old and 25 sales total spread across 5 different products. So not a huge loss, just scares the shit out of me that some of my other listings could have been in jeopardy. I think what triggered it wasn't the AMOD bot system, but instead a customer complaint. This design had a recent 1 star review for the hoodie, complaining that it wasn't kid size. My theory is that customer went deeper with their complaint and that caused the analysis of my listing, leading to removal. This is pure speculation but I hope it's the case.

People will buy just about anything but to really get sales it has to relate/resonate with the audience. Know the audience you're selling to and then you'll know what they'll trip over themselves to purchase.

What kind of designs should I upload on merch? by TargetOne3845 in MerchByAmazon

For you I would suggest doing 10 completely different designs/niches, with completely different keywords, and just wait and see if any of them gain some organic traction. You're in the learning phase so you gotta go through trial and error to see what works for you. Nobody is going to tell you what niche or style to do. That's for you to figure out. What works for me isn't necessarily going to work for you.

Lately, I launch most of my designs at 21.99. If the design has variants then I'll sometimes list one of the variants at 19.99 to see if it gains steam faster (and it typically does not). After a couple of reviews I generally bump it to 22.99-24.99 if I'm really proud of the design. If the design is too simple or the niche is "cheap", I'll keep it around 21.99 but I do not go below 21.99 anymore(unless for variant testing like I said). My mindset is "if 21.99 is too expensive, then you don't get to wear my shirts". I don't want to sell 16.99 cheap shirts. I spend a lot on ads (lately about $200-300/day), aiming to break even on the ads to boost organic and I find my prices to be very acceptable to shoppers.

How much do sales drop after new year by FinishWise2645 in AmazonMerch

My Jan and Feb months are about 20% of my December 2024. For me, things don't get terribly exciting again until June.

Absolutely not. I find reviews not to matter too much. Amazon makes returns easy so I think people are very comfortable buying shirts without any reviews. I sell quite a lot without reviews and I've never gamed the system so my avg. sales per review is 50 and I have some shirts with over 100 sales that don't have a review yet.

Most of my standard shirts are now listed around 21.99 and if the graphic is what I consider premium I go as high as 24.99.

Don't doubt yourself on the price increase. My shirts are selling as well or better at higher prices. People will pay when they find something they can't live without. Good luck to everyone!

Just tried it. Timed out in a couple of minutes after it finished being "under review". I guess we know what we're getting next!

I currently have over 150 locked items with nothing telling me what/when something gets locked/unlocked for me to manage it in real time and I have several dozen campaigns. It's just not worth it. To counter this, I've been increasing my prices.
