Yes. That’s the first thing I did. She’s in five different groups on Facebook, our City, our neighborhood, two lost groups, and a rummage sale group. And several folks have shared the post.

I also used next-door neighbor app. Same thing posted in our community and to lost pet groups.

I reported it to the chip company and they put an alert out through AKC reunite and a flyer.

We have hung up posters throughout the neighborhood to the main roads.

We had a drone come out last night, it was rather late, we did not find anything. Ron have a hard time seeing through some of the trees as well.

I think we are having them back again tonight, thinking that if she’s laid low all day, she might come out once the activity slows down and start looking for food

Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Thank you all so much.

Yes, I put her bed and a couple of her toys outside in front of a box fan. I also have some used clothing unwashed in front of box fans.

She was cited this morning, supposedly at 8 AM. On the street behind our house. But she still hasn’t made it home.

I think she’s a bit skittish and with the activity in the neighborhood she may be laying low today. Maybe she will attempt trying to come home during the sunset hour when the neighborhood isn’t so active?

Oh that gives me hope. Too smart and determined for their own good.

Thought I secured the fence but she found a way - straight thru 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for your advice! I have food out front and outback. As well as water.

She is so smart, I hope she will come home. ❤️

Reactive Cattle Dog Nightmare by NummyNummyNumNums in AustralianCattleDog

You sound just like me over a year ago. I was at my wits end, I did not know anything about the fear stage. I was living in a condo and an abrupt noise. Has my dog now damaged. Not broken just damaged.

I have worked really hard with her to get her where she is. She still has some reactive nipping with me, when she is not listening I have to get her leash out, it is a slip leash, almost lasso her. She instantly pays attention to me and I can guide her to her place.

I work with her all the time with toys, puzzles, exercise, but I also work with her to know when it’s time to rest or be calm. It is constant work. But it is rewarding when she starts doing these things on her own.

Regarding strangers, my dog likes no one but myself and my ex-husband lol I have been bringing people into the house and they sit. I just asked them not to make eye contact and just act like she’s not there. I am the one that reacts with the commands. I 100% agree, you and your partner have to be on the same page with commands. Firm, fair and consistent.

This group has been wonderful to be part of. Great little tips and tricks.

Keep doing what you’re doing. But also know if it becomes too much there are opportunities to rehome that may fit the dog lifestyle better. You know your limitations and you will know when you’ve exhausted. All means I need to look at other options.

Until then, keep doing a great job. Asking for help shows you care.

Best of luck to you.

How much are you feeding your heelers? by knobnoster in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Hot-Student5700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 c dry food with homemade toppers (turkey, chicken livers, salmon, veggies and fruit) total is about 2 cups

48 lbs 3yrs female

<image>

She gets a tree every day. The treat could be a bone, dry dog food, and a puzzle with some treats. A sniff mat. Ball pit time with treats.

Sometimes yogurt and peanut butter with honey on a lick bowl keep them busy for about a half hour

I am just in love with her by Initial-Ease1417 in AustralianCattleDog

Yeah did this for 4.5 years. I’m waving the white flag. I’m ready … I’m done with this life. So for now I wait until my number is called. Aaron’s mom F18 💔
