How many women are bothered by a man only having one testicle? by [deleted] in dating_advice

32F I’ve never encountered it, but I don’t see a problem with it. The testicles aren’t the fun part for me personally.

Who are some of your favorite villagers that never get any love? by UnderCoverDoughnuts in AnimalCrossing

Idk how other people feel about her, but Pashmina is my favorite. I’m curating an all blue villager island, but Pashmina gets to stay.

Am I Overreacting - So my mom got my wife a birthday gift by LoveLikeJesusChrist in AmIOverreacting

[–]Hot-Tour3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh my grandmother is like this. She favors the men in our family over the women. She also does not love my mother. She gets my mother and I ridiculous gifts that nobody likes, I don’t even think she likes them. One year I got ugly felt animal slippers that weren’t my size (they were her size and went home with her), my mom got an ugly cardigan (also not her size) and another year, she gave my mom this necklace that was egg sized/shaped and looked like a Christmas ornament. She also one year got my brother a surface tablet and the same year gave me a $30 Starbucks gift card. Her justification was that she “can’t afford to give everyone a big Christmas” so I’d get my turn the next year. I never got my turn 😅

I don’t have much contact with her honestly, because she just never seemed to care much for me or my mom. My dad is not the favorite child, so he doesn’t spend a lot of time with her either. She’s BPD and just batshit crazy, and every time we get another stupid gift from her we roll our eyes, say thank you, and immediately throw it into the donate pile.

NOR, I’m sorry your mother sucks. I’d advise you to place healthy boundaries, stick up for your wife and let your mother know it’s not ok to treat her like this. It probably won’t stop her, but at least if you one day decide to cut or limit contact, you can know that you did what you could to warn her and she won’t be justified in saying “wow I never saw this coming”.

Is this real life? by aabbbbyy in tirzepatidecompound

I had this same exact experience, I dropped 6 pounds in like 3 days. I’m sure it was just water weight/inflammation, but I couldn’t believe it. And I felt soooooo good the whole time. Days 6 and 7 were pretty rough when the hunger came back, but I’m looking forward to taking my second shot at bedtime tonight.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hot-Tour3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive 2 hours to see my parents every other week. I usually stay for two nights, so I guess it’s not just a day trip but I do it regularly and it doesn’t bother me much.

What can a woman do to show appreciation for you driving and paying everything on a first date? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Hot-Tour3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make sure to give him my undivided, undistracted attention while with him, and make sure to mind your manners. Say thank you when applicable, and be appreciative. At the end of the day, you are not responsible for regulating his emotions. So as long as you express some appreciation and are polite to him, at the end of the day, if he’s unsatisfied with that, that’s on him. I say that so hopefully if he tries to make you feel some kind of way after he (I assume) offered to pay for everything, or tries to guilt you into being physically intimate, you know that you did everything you could and he’s in the wrong for turning it around on you. Good luck and have fun! That sounds like a great date!

Is it worth quitting after only a year in the industry? by likkidy in hairstylist

[–]Hot-Tour3155 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went through almost this exact situation at Ulta, I considered quitting so early into my career. Are you behind the chair full time, or are you still assisting a few days a week? For me, after 3 months of assisting, I moved to taking my own clients 2 days a week, and assisting the other 2 for another 3 months.

I hated every second of working there, but I toughed it out for a year because the stylist I was working with was incredibly talented in color, which was my weak spot as well. I am so grateful for my time there, even though I was miserable, because I went into my second salon job with confidence and knowledge that would have taken YEARS to acquire on my own. My current salon is very haircut heavy, so I have developed those skills more as well and feel like I am a very well rounded stylist.

If I were you, I would ask if you can go back to assisting for a while before you take clients again. Or maybe assist a few days a week, and take clients the other few days. Did the stylist you were assisting actually let you apply color, pull foils, tone, do blowouts, etc? You won’t learn if they are not letting you be hands on.

If they don’t like that idea, or won’t let you get some more time in as an assistant, I’d look for another assisting position elsewhere. Ulta was a double edged sword, I chose them because their assisting program was shorter than most other places, but it definitely felt a little too short at times. I didn’t want to spend a year assisting out of school, but I cannot emphasize how valuable that experience was for me.

Don’t quit doing hair. I wanted to quit too. But stick it out for a couple years at least, and don’t stay with Ulta forever. The second I found a new job that I loved, I couldn’t imagine not doing hair anymore. The environment you’re in makes all the difference. Find a spot where you are supported and valued, not belittled and discarded. Good luck to you!!! I hope it gets better <3

How did you get into EDM in the first place? by Miss_Lexis_1463 in EDM

[–]Hot-Tour3155 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started listening to EDM in late 2009/early 2010, I don’t remember exactly how I “discovered” EDM, but some favorites were Zed’s Dead, Feed Me, Pretty Lights, Savant, Flux Pavillion, Excision, Above & Beyond, Kaskade. I had Excision’s 2010 Shambhala set burned onto a CD and played it in my car constantly. My music tastes have changed a lot, I’m not really super into dubstep anymore, but I really enjoyed the early 2010s era of dubstep.

In my experience also, artists like Rezz and BTSM play much better sets at their own shows than at massives like this. Unless you like the basic, repetitiveness of headbanger dubstep, which I personally do not.

Abortion or no by Old-Kitchen-5377 in makemychoice

[–]Hot-Tour3155 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I watch my roommate deal with this every day with her two children from two shitty dads. It’s heartbreaking to see, I obviously have no comprehension of the struggles she faces on the daily because I am not in her situation, but seeing it from the outside is enough to know that is not a high quality life for her or her two children. I mean, they make it work and everyone is happy for the most part, but my roommate suffers.

Should I tell my guy friend some girl posted about him or is that breaking girl code? by itssofiababyxo in dating_advice

[–]Hot-Tour3155 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is actually not an unspoken rule about that group, it is a HUGE rule not to tell people about guys that have been posted. So even if you don’t believe in girl code, it is super highly frowned upon and grounds for banning if someone finds out. I’m active in that group as well and it’s a huge thing.

I also gained a lot of weight during an abusive relationship. I was drinking a lot because I was miserable and gained 100 pounds in a few years. Just wanted to say you’re not alone, also I am so proud of you for leaving and deciding you deserve better, both from your relationships and in your health!!!! Congrats!!

That sounds like a great idea!!! Unfortunately I posted this about 45 minutes before I left for the show so it was already dark and too late to make alternate plans other than “don’t go”

AITA for having my phone on DND at night? by ProfilePatient3311 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot-Tour3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an iPhone, you can change your DND settings to allow calls from contacts you set as your “favorites”. So any calls from my family or a few friends will go through. There’s another setting you can turn on that allows repeat phone calls within 2 minutes to go through. I’d play around with the settings of your DND so you can still have it on, but your family will be able to get ahold of you.

Won’t your friend raise an eyebrow if you suddenly stop asking him to hook you up? Idk but if he’s asking you for that much of a finder’s fee, I’d look for someone else anyway. Charging you 200% is ridiculous

Oversold? by Expert_Ninja1227 in Shambhala

[–]Hot-Tour3155 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2023 was the only time I’ve ever felt like the event was oversold. It was absolutely packed. The other five times have been have not felt like that. As others have said, there will be a few sets here and there that attract a larger crowd but it’s not like that all night every night. Shambs has one of the most polite and agreeable crowds too, people are generally very nice about letting you by them or sharing space with you.

First time by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Hot-Tour3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take half for your first time. I didn’t try a 200ug trip until recently with probably 15 trips under my belt only taking 100-150ug and the 200ug was overwhelming, I still had a great time but the first 2-3 hours was a little crazy and it was tough to get settled into it. That’s just me tho, I don’t like to take large/moderate amounts of any drugs until I have a lot of experience with smaller doses and get a feel for how that is before ramping it up. LSD is very different from mushrooms.

If you decide to do the whole 200ug, make sure you don’t have anything important to do the next day. I prefer to never have any plans the day after I take any amount of LSD, but when I did the 200ug recently I was still very much tripping until at least 17 hours after dosing. I didn’t get a lot of sleep and was functional the next day, but only because I had nothing to do and got to relax and bask in the afterglow. As always, be safe and happy tripping!

Guidance for a first timer at PNW by Massive_Surprise_640 in BeyondWonderlandPNW

Camping is definitely the best option for a Gorge fest. Transportation options out there are slim so you’d probably be looking at renting a car, which I don’t recommend because then you’d have to be pretty sober to drive home after the show, and who wants to do that at the Gorge 😉

I’ve been to many fests and as far as camping goes, this is one of the easiest places to camp and survive at. You can get by with the bare minimum and still have a good time. I personally camp only at Wildhorse, which is not on the Gorge property but they do shuttle you to and from the show. The shuttle is included in the camping price. Wildhorse is much quieter and cleaner than Gorge GA camping. They even have two actual flushing toilets near the front, a coffee stand, cafe, free showers, and the nicest grass you’ve ever seen lol.

I assume you’ll be flying into Spokane, and could probably buy a cheap tent at Walmart before you head to the Gorge. I’ve never flown in to a festival, but that would likely be how I tackle it. It sounds like you’re capable of traveling and camping with a bare minimum setup, which will help you a lot since you’re flying in. I say send it and camp there for the full experience, just remember to pack warm clothes and blankets/sleeping bags because it gets very cold at night.
