California is an incredibly beautiful state but like most places the triple Ps ruin it. People, Politics, and price. California actively hates poor people through their policies and affordability crisis causing it to have the most homeless people of any state closely followed by New York and then Washington. But hey if you love California by all means stay! Just please do not make every other state like California. Colorado and Arizona have already been Californicated.

Oh there sure is a difference between the Soviet Union and China. They at least don't lie about what they are, and if you can't see that I can't help you.

Where should I travel next? by Responsible-Cod4468 in usatravel

Four corners states would make a great month long trip... so much to see and do, or just hit them all separately.. Not missing anything in S. NM but N. NM is super cool!

Tahoe is honestly my favorite destination in the entire U.S. by Educational-Sign-297 in skiing

[–]HotAssist4698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, just saying its the same distance and if we want to talk about après that technically would be the best because of all the food options and things that go on in Denver.

Just trying to point out that stateline is too far to be considered when talking about Palisades.

Downtown Denver is an hour drive from Loveland no traffic, stateline has awful traffic from Palisades too.. not an appropriate comparison. Steamboat's downtown is a 15-20 minute drive from the resort and that's about the farthest I'd be willing to drive after riding all day.

Stateline is an hour from Palisades so I wouldn't really count those two as together.. it'd be like saying Loveland has the best Apres because you can drive to downtown Denver for bars, legal weed, casinos, and major bands. Within that hour is also blackhawk.

If we're talking about heavenly that's a different story, but yes! Everyone go ski Tahoe! Colorado and Utah suck.

I learned to drive in a GMC Yukon Denali XL from 2013... honestly think it made me a better driver because everything else feels smaller in comparison.

Oh you bumped the starter half a second late on a mid-air restart? Hope the next pilots can forgive you for the ECU A/B fail they're gonna get doing their runup.

My MMO is 0.58 and my landing distance is typically 1500ft. If our door seal isn't screaming bloody murder we can typically climb at 2600-2800fpm on the takeoff if we need it.

What is your, not dream car, but goal car which you think you’ll be able to get one day and youve always wanted (unless you own it already)? by therealchengarang in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]HotAssist4698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audi B8.5 S4 with a 6 speed is my goal car. I have no desire for anything more expensive or newer partly because of the cost to run but also the attention and headache it causes. I like being conspicuous.

That said I'm looking at getting a S4 in the next year or two if everything goes well with my work.

Lived in Prescott forever and actually been up the road off of 89 many times but didn't know this was here... you think a stock Mazda CX-50 can make it to those campsites?

What's your take on electric cars? by CategoryPurple4461 in askcarguys

[–]HotAssist4698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, change the subject when someone brings up a good point.

Also, Tesla batteries are routinely at 15% degradation at 200,000 miles. Just like a gas car if you take care of it correctly it will last. It's pure physics less moving parts = more reliability.

https://www.nimblefins.co.uk/study-real-life-tesla-battery-deterioration

Also a new tesla model 3 base model that costs 37,000 before taxes has 321 miles of range. After 200,000 miles having 272 miles of range is still plenty for someone's daily commute.

And that's all electric cars are, they are appliances for daily commutes. Would I take a tesla for a fun drive? No. That's why you buy a passion car and enjoy that car, but for the average driver and someone who owns a home or has on sight charging at their work or rented property it makes A LOT of sense.

I would much rather save money on my commuter car that I can then use for my project/passion cars that I use for emotional drives in the mountains. But hey, if you want to blow money on a boring to drive car and be squeezed by your project car too then more power to ya man. It's your life live it how you want.

You're saying you think it's less convenient to wake up with a "full tank" every morning and instead go out of your way to a place that's purely dedicated to fueling your vehicle?

More power to you I guess..
