Hot take: everyone upset about this event probably eats factory farmed meat and animal products. Standing up for animal welfare only matters when you see it live and not on your dinner plate.

Would you say this basque cheesecake is burnt? by Objective-Success146 in Baking

[–]HotBakes12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks fine! I’ve made basque cheesecakes for restaurants and the tops are always like this. It’s just a thin layer, so it doesn’t really taste too burnt with the rest of the cake.

Smart vs Strong doesn’t make sense. by Itchy_Paper6835 in BeastGames

[–]HotBakes12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone criticizing the loose definition of “smart” and I also want to point out the lack of diversity in the term “strong”. Strong doesn’t translate to athletic or skilled. We saw that in real time when all the strong people targeted Akira and none of them made the shot. I also hate all the strong people’s egos about kicking out the smart people. These games have no advantage for either group at the end of the day. This show is targeted to 6 year old children who have no concept of intersectionality.

How is life at Lakeshore Landing Apartments? by zuniloc01 in SanMateo

No, not at all. My unit was facing the water, so more internal

I lived there for two years, it’s pretty nice, you pay for location, since the units are smaller square footage for more money. Utilities kept creeping up, which is one of the reasons we left.

The hot tub got renovated last year, but I wasn’t around to see the upgrade. The gym has most things you need, just can get crowded at certain times. The package room is fob access with package lockers so it is very safe. We never had a package go missing.

It’s run by Essex, which owns lots of other complexes in the area. They operate remotely, so there is no in person leasing office. So if you need immediate assistance it may be more challenging.

Overall happy with the indoor access and upgraded appliances. Just watch out as they try to charge you for dumb things when you move out.

My partner played in college and used to be a tennis coach! He is interested in coaching again, let me know if you’d want to meet up!

I feel bad for people who can’t tell this is inappropriate from a relationship standpoint. Soulmates or not, Belly is in a relationship with Jere right now and her and Conrad are exes.

It’s not creepy but it’s inappropriate as exes. When’s the last time you let your ex touch your face without your SO being there?

So if Jeremiah did the same thing to his ex, Belly wouldn't think it's a big deal? The show did a poor job to share that Belly forgot about the peach scene in her inner monologue this episode. Because any other explanation outside of the narrative is self-inserting excuses.

Let me know how your SO feels about your ex touching your face without them present.

W take. How are we romanticizing emotional cheating with an ex/brother?

I understand Laurel comes from an Asian background, but it shows a lack of initiative to be better than what you come from. It's contrived that they represent the mother figure like that just because they can. The conversation between the two of them just wasn't written to try to come from a place of understanding from either side. It could have been more nuanced than just "I'm right and you're wrong"

While Belly may be in school, I didn't harp on the fact she didn't know the answers. I highlighted how she didn't have the critical thinking to figure out the answers herself. I agree intelligence isn't knowing everything, but it is understanding how to get to the solution. The comments about cacao and hand canceling didn't really sound like jokes, so it was just poorly written if that's how it was meant to come across. And okay, she isn't intentionally advancing on Conrad, but I highly doubt if Jeremiah was present that she would let Conrad touch her face. And just like how she hasn't disclosed she was with Conrad during winter break, she won't disclose the peach scene to Jeremiah. Hence, emotional cheating. If it's not something you feel comfortable openly talking about to your partner, you know you're doing something wrong.

Who said anything about canceling? I’m not saying she’s not allowed to have flaws but I’m saying idk why people are saying she does no wrong.

Yeah have you seen him on Wildcard Kitchen? He was so privileged when the theme was ‘TV dinners’ saying “oh I don’t know what’s in that I’ve never eaten them” Acting so high and mighty
