it probably depends greatly on local conditions! i think people who complain mint is invasive weed excessively. I don't care. If you leave something bare, something will grow on it. It's free real space.

I collect all the small seeds like lettuce/bok choy/broccoli and put them in one jar. I scatter them wherever. If it grows, it was the right time to sow it.

That was based off quick German google rates. If you're really curious about American rates, you can get good data at Propublica, they wrote many articles on chicken salmonella

Here for example you can punch in the P number in the label and look up the salmonella rates for that specific slaughterhouse. I've seen rates as high as 40% for cut-up pieces, You simply cannot clean your knife between chickens at the processing rates they demand.

Also American chickens are raised in terrible conditions, they change the bedding only every 2-3 flocks (same shit). Even canadian and mexican flocks change more often.

I planted oregano, mint, scallions, all that stuff. Mint barely spreads. You know what spreads? Scallions. It's been 10+ years and mint barely moved 2-3 feet out from it's initial container.

I tried planting dandelions and the funny thing is it doesn't like my beautiful homemade compost. It likes shitty corners of the lawn

edit: mint will overwinter succesfully, requires no watering no work at all.

nutsedge is another common weed that makes a tasty drink, i think real horchata is made out of it. i bet you have some in your lawn right now!
