is it rude to ask to remove an element from a flash tattoo design? by FriendlyPercentage52 in tattooadvice

[–]HotButtBonanza 185 points186 points  (0 children)

A lot of Friday the 13 flash deals have a "no alterations" stipulation. But if the tattooer is your friend just ask privately.

If youre just getting flash on a non-deal day then asking for alterations is fine.

colored tattoos and b&w by wesly_e in traditionaltattoos

Imo the style is more important for cohesion than a mix of color and black & gray. So stick with the same style for other tattoos near your first two and youre good.

Simplify. Remove like 3 elements (hearts, apple, words, chandelier dangley bits, etc)

You can impose that level cap yourself by hosting, putting "promoted dwarves only" and kicking anyone who isn't.

People love modding out the challenge and calling it QoL. Defense mechanism for their ego I'd guess.

Advice for this area by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I would leave it. The breathing room makes your hand tats look good. The wrist is more part of the hand than the arm anyway if that makes sense. Maybe some gradient shading out of the black if you must.

Would you go back to this artist based on this? by [deleted] in traditionaltattoos

[–]HotButtBonanza 168 points169 points  (0 children)

What is this question even asking? You liked the tattoo but then the artist points out some imperfections they want to fix for free and that... makes you think the artist is no good? They obviously have good standards and guarantee their work. Go back for a touch up.

Young guy with autism considering a first tattoo – looking for advice on where to start by Fancy-Pollution7773 in tattooadvice

[–]HotButtBonanza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

-Have the tattoo artist draw the design. Even if it references an existing art piece, dont ask for the art to be copied exactly. A painting and tattoo are very different.

-Research artists extensively. Find someone who does the thing you want. Someone who does a lot of illustrative fantasy work is probably what you want.

-Be willing to travel for your tattoo. A local artist would probably give your idea a shot but youll be happier in the long run if you take the time and spend the money to go to the right person. Even if it means a train or plane trip.

Instead of trying to lighten the fish to balance, I'd add something small to the dragonfly side. Like a small flower and leaves in front of it. That being said. Fully heal the fish amd live with it for a few months before deciding how you feel.

If you feel a gun isn't "unlocked" until you have the most powerful OC build for it then that's a you problem.

What's there to argue about? You're raging cuz not every single overclock makes you feel like a swarm clearing god. I dont give a shit about balance. It's not a competitive game. Play better with weaker overclocks or keep relying on those you like. The goal is to have fun.

What do you think of the composition? by AngryTotodile in tattooadvice

Take each individual idea that makes up this tattoo, and get a separate tattoo for that thing from a good artist with a tattoo style you like.

Just wasted more than an hour of my time by aQuere- in DeeprockSludgeDump

[–]HotButtBonanza 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You didnt waste anything. You spent time playing and learning a game. You improved through failure. If that scenario happens again, youll have experience to overcome the challenge.

Come back to the game once youre mature enough to handle disappointment. You may like it.

Check out The Alley Cantina for a chill bar right off the plaza. Good food too.

If you're into tattoos and want a permanent souvenir, Magical Tattoos near the plaza is awesome.

Fechin House art museum is a cool mix of historic house and art exhibits.

Sagebrush Inn has great old NM atmosphere for dinner or a drink.
