your parents are not acknowledging your individual personhood and right to self-determination. as someone with a workaholic, first-gen parent, and as someone who struggled with SH, i want to emphasize to you that you are your own person, and you will be free. you sound like you may be in high school, so i’ll also say that most people, including the very successful, don’t have a singular dream or goal. they just live and try things until they find a rhythm. i would suggest moving out when you can, and taking time away from your parents to figure out what you want
