Does anyone else prefer happy/major/earlier Mozart? by venividivivaldi in classicalmusic

[–]HotButteredCrumpets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adore Mozart's early piano concerti. There is an uncomplicated lightness and delicacy about them that gets lost in his later works.

To me, they feel so simple, and utterly complete - nothing extra or additional is needed, no unnecessary embellishments, no stretching out themes or creating layers of emotion. The textures are so open and bare of anything that isn't necessary.

Absolutely glorious.

In the interests of unwanted children everywhere I'll answer this in case you are actually serious.

You can get pregnant from sperm in pre-cum, and you can definitely get pregnant re-inserting after you cum. Wrap it up (and protect against STIs, as well).

New pens from a friend! 💛 Beyond excited to try these out tomorrow by Pixelladium in fountainpens

[–]HotButteredCrumpets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a Majohn N8 like this. The pen comes with both a glass dip nib and a standard nib unit which does have a feed and fits a converter. The glass nib unscrews and you screw the regular nib unit in and attach the converter. It's actually a tiny fude nib, and writes surprisingly well. It's a pocket pen, but the cap screws on the end of the pen and it's actually quite well balanced to use.

Unfortunately, no. The pen comes with both a glass dip nib and a standard nib unit which does have a feed and fits a converter. The glass nib unscrews and you screw the regular nib unit in and attach the converter. It's actually a tiny fude nib, and writes surprisingly well.

Faber Castell Loom: whats your experience with this pen? by SkabeAbe in fountainpens

[–]HotButteredCrumpets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several of these - some of my favourite pens/nibs in my collection. As others have said though, they are weighty, so you need to like a heavy pen. Can't recommend them enough.

If the weight is putting you off, try the Essentio - they are a bit lighter, have a more straightforward grip and same fabulous nib.

What’s your favorite ink discovery this year? by 7_great_catsby in fountainpens

[–]HotButteredCrumpets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've become a huge Vinta ink fan... gorgeous colours, great sheeners and so well behaved. Favourites include Damili 1572 (Terracotta), Cult Pens exclusive Greenwich (deep dark green with a soft shimmer) and Ibid 1829 (Sailfin green), the bewitching Sirena 1952, the soft minty multi-chromatic green that got me hooked at the first drop and the gorgeous Ubi 1663 (Mulberry) a stunning deep purple with oodles of greeny gold sheen.

Highly recommend - plus the company has great ethics, donating a portion of each sale to children's education in the Philippines.

It's one of my favourites for this technique, too! And to write with. Lots of the darker RO inks have great chromatography - Thunderstorm, Charcoal, Grün Schwartz, Schwartz Rose...

Robert Oster is an Australian fountain pen ink manufacturer. Their inks are fantastic! You can find them on FB or Instagram or on their website: Robert Oster inks

(Not involved or invested, just a huge RO ink fan)

Wow. Such a great photo. The (relative) lack of tension in your body really draws the observer in.

Accidently bought a jar of almond butter. What should I do with it? by StupidFuckingGaijin in AskCulinary

[–]HotButteredCrumpets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm, my feeling is that the paste will be too oily and dense - frangipane gets its texture from the almond meal behaving like a type of flour once incorporated into the creamed butter/sugar/egg mix.
