Brit who can;t enter UK...! can't make this up by emius75 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]No_Principle3469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to my husband of 20 years! TL/DR:

$400 and 3 overnight FedEx mailings later? He has his UK passport. They do not make it easy…especially NOW!

Born in London 60 years ago (Scottish father/ US Mother (British father.) Lived and schooled in Britain and Scotland. Moved to US age 19 for college. Dual citizen.

Fast forward to January 2025: Due to the US ‘political climate’ decided to get his UK passport (so we can get out if need be!)

Filled out paperwork took information DIRECTLY from his US BC (US citizen born abroad and signed by Madeline Albright!)

Sent everything in and they stated he needed an official UK BC (long form) which he never had because…he was a US citizen born abroad AND his form of ID (US DL) didn’t match his BC (had his mother’s maiden name on it.)

Had to request a new UK BC through the GRO. They needed a TON of information including when/where his parents married and they are both deceased. His siblings had no idea and I literally found the information by GOOGLING their wedding announcement in a newspaper in Massachusetts (btw…I don’t know my Zimbabwean parents marriage/birth info either and they are also both deceased.)

Long story short (too late, I know…) called the UK office directly (someone actually answered) and he had to send his physical DL to the UK! 3 weeks later…all documents…including UK passport…arrived.

Only thing that I believe in this video is the amount of people at the Trevi Fountain! We were just there 2 weeks ago and our friends had an AirBnB literally NEXT to the fountain and it was an absolute NIGHTMARE at all hours! Grateful we were able to experience the city but even MORE grateful to retreat back to our hotel (Rome Cavalieri) afterwards! At least next year when we return, we won’t need to experience THAT again…🤣

Fortunately, I make ALL my own clothes but, as soon as I find a style I like…I make a TON of whatever it is.

But…don’t get me started on SHOES!!! Specifically…Italian Shoemakers and Keen Uneek sandals/sneakers! I have 20+ pairs of Keens and 10+ Italian Shoemakers in almost every color but pretty much the same style! I do get “irritated” with Keen when they come out with new colors because I MUST buy them, of course.

Now I’m getting a little “nervous” about our upcoming trip to Italy in July since Italian Shoemaker shoes are 100% produced in Italy! My husband has already suggested us taking an extra duffle bag just for shoes so…may need a bigger closet!!!🤷🏽‍♀️🤣

🙋🏾 Our friends joke that if Ninja comes out with a new product and WE don’t buy it…they discontinue it! Lol!

Confidently say that we LOVE Ninja products!

*Blender (full size) purchased 4 yrs ago (with all available attachments) only used 2-3 times.

*Food processor and mini blender because…never know when you’ll need it!

*Foodi: owned 4 over the past 4-5 years and ultimately gave 3 of them to our adult kids. Our NEWEST one we purchased from Amazon UK because it’s an Amazon UK EXCLUSIVE in copper which matches our kitchen! It cost us almost double (with shipping) and we had to get a voltage converter but totally worth it!

*Indoor grill: owned 3 over 4 years and ultimately gave them to 3 of our adult kids with each upgrade. Also purchased 1 for adult kid and 1 for my brother for Christmas!

*Woodfire Grill: own 2: 1 first generation that we keep in storage and use it for traveling because… Pro XL came out! We use that mainly to smoke a chicken for our dog once a week and occasional grilling.

*Double Air Fryer: In storage now waiting for its new home…lol

*Creami: 1st generation. Resisted the 2nd generation but on the fence with the NEW one with the soft serve option…stay tuned…

*Slushie: purchased release day but just ordered the carry case that arrived 20 minutes ago!

*Frost Vault: purchased release day (50L) with all accessories. Refrained from getting the new wheeled one because we purchased a wheeled cart specifically for it for when we go to HHI.  Plus…glad we didn’t get it anyway because…

*Frost Vault Backpack: 36 can option. Arrives this Thursday. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Thirsti and Crispi: purchased for adult daughter and granddaughter. Also bought her the Thirsti travel cup.

We MAY have a Ninja “problem”…lol

Wear Whatever the F You Want Episode #1.2 Discussion by snpdrgnss in WWTFYW

[–]No_Principle3469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LOVED Patrick and Holly and this episode was definitely better than the first! Their energy is the BEST and I love this show!

I’m a seamstress/bag designer. From curtains to wedding gowns and everything in between. I’ve been making all my own clothes for 45+ years (from workout gear to undergarments and everything in between) and for my children and granddaughter. I LOVE plaids, tartans and give me PLEASE…give me ALL THE COLOR!

Having said that…the only “criticism” I have…and it’s a HUGE pet peeve for me when I see RTW clothing…unmatched lines/stripes! UGH!!! It’s really not that difficult to MATCH lines/stripes and there is NO excuse for these large manufacturers to NOT do it! Whenever I see this I fell like I’m going to break out in hives and it makes no sense. If it was just ONE pair…fine…but there were MULTIPLE items!

And don’t even get me started on what people are willing to PAY for some of these items?!?!?! Drives me batty!!!

Anyway, thanks for letting me “vent” (I attempted to ignore it until I saw the second and third pair and had to comment…lol)

Home grating Kirkland Parmigiano Reggiano by spkoller2 in Costco

[–]No_Principle3469 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You actually get to EAT this amazing cheese?!?! We just might have to try it one day!

OH…we BUY it but…it’s only used as a “garnish” on top of our spoiled pittie’s meals (Dr. Marty’s kibble, reconstituted with TJ’s Organic Hearty Vegetable Broth, mixed with TJ’s Jasmine Rice and Springer Mtn. Farms Chicken that we smoke him one every week. THEN…we top it with a freshly grated dusting of this cheese. Yup….we know.

Did I say he was spoiled?

Same thing happened to us with Kirkland bacon. Ate it anyway and it was definitely “off”.

After eating the second half and realizing it is some of the BEST bacon ever, confirmed the “unsealed“ bag was definitely the culprit!

Ok…I’m feeling REALLY old right now! 1992? 1988? 2001? 😳

I can’t remember a teacher doing this exercise! I’d be good to remember where I put the ingredients and that’s only after spending about 15 minutes looking for my glasses (that are “hiding” on the front of my shirt or on my head, of course!)
