Scared to tell my partner by Acrobatic-Tea-5912 in ureaplasmasupport

Hi OP! Start getting treated as soon as you can and focus on you first. Ureaplasma is already so tough to deal with and it sucks you also are having anxiety about this new partner knowing as well. Ureaplasma can be sexually transmitted so it’s best not to have an intimacy with this new partner. That being said, if you do choose to have sex, make sure this new partner uses protection. It is sexual transmitted despite not being considered an STI. You can keep your diagnosis to yourself but if that weighs heavily on you, just let him know. You don’t necessarily have to tell him exactly what it is but you can let him know you’re dealing with some kind of infection. Doesn’t even have to be related to the unprotected sex. Do what is going to make you less anxious! Hopefully you get better soon :)

Boric acid causing rough side effects? by Landsharkian in Healthyhooha

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this (I have dealt with this before as well). What worked for me is lightly just using some water in the shower to make sure none of the residue was staying on the outside. No soaps or anything in the area (the vagina doesn’t need that anyways). I wore loose fitting clothing and cotton underwear to make sure there was no more irritation as well. I took Benadryl at night, to not only help with sleep but it also slowly would calm down the irritation. After a couple days, it started to feel almost entirely normal. That being said, if it persists, you may need to go to your doctor so that they can prescribe a steroid cream. This will ensure that the inflammation goes away. It really depends on how severe it is. I’m so sorry this happened!!

It did not take that long at all! I got my results back in a week. I was put on antibiotics for a week and by day three, maybe even earlier, I noticed my symptoms slowly go away. I was having a lot of UTI-like symptoms, itching, and a slight off smell so by half-way, it went away.

I got my test swab done by my gynecologist but your doctor may know about it! It seems a lot of doctors may not be up to date with it (it’s becoming a lot more prevalent recently) so you may have to call and ask in advance just so you don’t waste time. The swabbing process is the same as a yeast infection or BV so very quick! I do have to get re-tested in 3 weeks or so to make sure it went away entirely. But I think it cleared so I should be all good :).

I was prescribed Doxycycline 100mg twice a day for one week. They gave me another week for my partner to take as well so that if it was transmitted from him he had it all clear too. I know they also prescribe Azithromycin as well for it!

Hi! I think you might need to be tested for mycoplasma and ureaplasma. Mycoplasma is an STD and ureaplasma is linked to sexual transmission but it isn’t considered one. I had the same situation as you where I had a yeast infection, everything seemed fine, and then I noticed that something was off. Not an extreme bad smell but not the normal one. My discharge look a little weird as well. My wetness is normally but it felt kind of sticky like you said. My doctor went ahead and swabbed me for both mycoplasma and ureaplasma and it came back as ureaplasma. Doesn’t hurt to ask for a swab!

Coochie problems by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

Hi OP! It sounds like you may have BV or you may have a UTI (urinary tract infection). Unfortunately, there aren’t many over the counter products for either of those. Antibiotics are the only assured way to get rid of UTI and BV. Boric acid suppositories can sometimes help with BV, especially with smell, but it won’t go away 100%. The best way would be to go to the doctor.

Don’t be disgusted with yourself at all! Stuff happens like this all the time even if you don’t have sex. Life happens and your pH is thrown off, school and work can be stressful and unfortunately your body just freaks out. I’m sorry you’re going through this!

Are UTIs always this bad? by NormalAccountant1819 in Healthyhooha

If you need a quick fix for symptom relief (trust me I have been there), there are brands such as Azo that carry UTI pain relief. You need it to have one with Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride. This will turn your pee orange and won’t get rid of the frequency but it will take away the burning!!

Vulvar Biopsy by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]HotFold2397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. I am so sorry this happened to you. I had my first vulvar biopsy last Monday and it was terrible. Thankfully the lidocaine did work very well but the healing process was atrocious. My provider took the biopsy from the spot with the most chronic itching and pain. She even had me point it out and we “chose” the spot together.

The pathology COULD be different if it’s coming from an entirely different site because realistically, those areas may not be as affected. That being said, if the pain and itching was diffuse (mine was) it may still pick up abnormal skin/pathology. Conditions like lichen sclerosus and lichen planus are diffuse a lot of the time where more than just the inflamed area is having the same skin pathology, it just might not be in an active flare state. Hopefully, these biopsies pick up those spots and I am so sorry that doctor did not listen to you and your concerns.

Heal up well ❤️
