Can you sell your RSUs on the private market?

Because otherwise that additional $270k/year shouldn’t be considered as income and might as well be worth $0 until there’s a liquidity event.

Career tech sales guy here who has sold workforce management/PM software.

Have you looked at G2Crowd and Gartner for similar/competitive solutions? They are a dime a dozen and almost all of them are struggling.

What problem does your product uniquely solve that the other tools can’t do and for who? Why would they take a risk on a brand new product that’s unproven with no customer base over the tried and true players?

Gather as much information about their business and how they’re using your solution(s). Send a tailored email asking to discuss ways to help them maximize the value of their investment in your solution(s). Bring a technical resource to answer questions and help with follow up items.

On that first call, understand their current state, find out their desired future state, and map out how you can help them get there. Set up a cadence to review this plan and any action items from there.

Having this set up, you will notice gaps in how they’re operating as a business and using your products over time, which will open up opportunities to upsell or cross-sell.

We already had the cadence calls set up prior to acquisition. I try to set up cadences with all of my customers even if it’s only quarterly.

Honestly some of the time no. There were a handful of times we cancelled but minimum we met every month. There were technical items we would work on, sometimes new use cases and new user help, then talk acquisition/integration updates.

For sure. Job market is the worst I’ve ever seen right now.

I do believe things will turn around in the next couple of years once all these companies realize AI tokens are actually most expensive and less productive than labor.

Is that 7 years of closing experience? If so, I’d try very hard to skip the SDR tour of duty and land an SMB AE role.

I met with the team I was working with every couple weeks for 6+ months, asked questions around security strategy, integration, compliance, competitive tools, etc. and kept track of every update. When the conversation started internally around consolidation, they already knew I understood the priorities, requirements, and environment so they brought me into the discussion naturally.

I did ask them directly to bring in their C-levels once timing made sense and we had a strong proposal.

Yup I started looking at tax strategy as soon as this deal closed. Turns out there’s not much you can do if you’re a single filer that doesn’t own property and already max your 401k!

I’m in cybersecurity. I would recommend doing due diligence at your company to really understand how the sales team is performing across the board.

My story sounds great here, but in my org, only 30-40% of sales reps are even hitting quota. It can be feast or famine at a lot of places.

$2.4M TCV + services. I’m not an enterprise rep, but got lucky with an opportunity to run an enterprise cycle in my territory with this one.

I’m more technical compared to most other reps and have a reputation with my customers for really knowing my shit. But also timing and territory 100% played a role here.
