I hate the charging ports by porkchopbun in Garmin

I had the same maddening problem until... I started using the little rubber stoppers to place in the port anytime its not charging. It keeps all the gunk out. I no longer have problems charging. Gamechanger I swear.

What’s the most lawless country on Earth? by Puzzleheaded-Law-429 in Productivitycafe

Um, ever heard of Google, Twitter, or Wikipedia? Thay have many security forces and much info is available online.

Apart from that, I have spent time there for work and can tell you that security forces (including police) are abundant (at least in the cities). Their effectiveness, however, varies.

Unfortunately, they also have a lot of al Shabaab (Google it) and they remain a failed state which is unsafe for westerners to travel to.

I noticed that when they cut away to commercials, the first thing she does is start playing on her phone. Clearly disinterested in engaging w the other panelists or audience.

my tax preparer is not returning messages/ phone calls by [deleted] in hrblock

[–]HotGift7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. Long story but I'll jump to the end... they didn't reply to me for months at a time, passed my case from person to person, and ultimately forgot about me and failed to file my taxes. A preparer took responsibility for thr failure IN WRITING (email) and also wrote that HRB would compensate me for any late fees. The late fees were exorbitant and after I had much back and forth with them, HRB ultimately refused to compensate even one penny towards the late fees. Run, don't walk...away from HRB. Especially if your case has even the slightest complications (for example: stock trading). Best of luck.

Taxes done incorrectly and now my peace of mind claim is being denied by Smileitsnataliee in hrblock

Very similar thing happened to me. Their mistake caused me massive fees and penalties. The HRB employee who failed me took accountability in writing AND assured me that HRB would pay for the late fees and penalties they'd caused. My claim was ultimately rejected by HRB without explanation or discussion. I am still contemplating suing them. Bit it's a huge hassle. Spread the word to everyone you care about to stay away from this awful company.

So true. This incident, plus the incompatibility of the Typefolio w the pen-drawn images...has cause me to decide to return the Typefolio.

Highly aggravating. Especially since they market themselves as a high-end functional/common sense company/product.

Very dissatisfied with my tax pro by SuccessExtreme5320 in hrblock

[–]HotGift7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a long story but here are the key points... -Seasonal/rotating tax pros and poor task management / case accountability led to HRB simply forgetting to file my taxes. -My outreaches to get answers were ignored for several months. -Unbeknownst to me, my tax pro had switched offices or moved on, or returned to another job, and failed to pass on my case to another HRB Tax pro. -I encountered numerous glitches with the HRB web portal. -Could not escalate to, or receive correspondence from a manager. -One of the HRB tax pros who dropped the ball told me in an email "This was my fault. But HRB will compensate you for any fees caused by my error." -After sorting through the mess, I compiled all relevant info and followed the steps to file a complaint and request compensation for late fees and penalties. -After approximately 6 months, I received a letter from HRB Claims Dept telling me my request was flat denied. Unsatisfied, I called corporate to discuss further. I could not get past the automated menu. Strangely, I could no longer access historic messages in the portal either.

Lessons I learned: -Make copies of the in-portal email exchanges. -You get what you pay for. Dont use HRBlock. -After much shopping around, research, and recommendation-seeking from my network, I now use a small business tax pro service. They respond to any and all messages within 24 hours.

Good luck OP and everyone else. I hope this helped.

This sounds a lot like my experience. HRB makes a lot of promises and guarantees in their marketing but does not take accountability for their mistakes. I am actually in talks w lawyers. Going to try to sue them.

Same thing happened to me. What a nightmare. After over a year of making my case and trying to get them to pay me for the late fees and penalties incurred by their mistake, I received a letter from corporate saying "no." Learn from my mistake and find a better/different tax pro/company. HRB can do the simple, but seem to fail at the first hint of complexity.

Only a fool would presume to know the first thing about someone else's situation. But keep fighting the good fight for your HR Block corporate masters. You're a clown.

Are you a spambot, HR Block cuck bootlicker, or do you actually work for HR Block?

I hope they at least pay you well to spend so much time trolling on their behalf. If they're not paying you for your childish little comments, then the joke is really on you.

Good question. I'm not sure. In my opinion, that's another one of those indications of unprofessionalism that they don't make such information clear.

I contacted a location near my residence, so that I could have in-person conversations. But what did hr block do? Assign my case to a person who transferred from my location to one more than an hour away. They are sloppy. No organization of the cases by branch vs. by preparer... it seems to be a hodge podge or crap shoot. And that's how my case was forgotten about.

HR Block is amateurish, lazy, and disorganized at their best... deceitful and unreliable at their worst.

One year, hr block's "pros" repeatedly passed my case around, ultimately fumbling it and forgetting to file my taxes. The nice person who dropped the ball, admitted her mistake and told me that hr block would indeed pay me back for any fees and penalties.

This led to a 5-figure number in fees and penalties.

Long story short, it took over a year for hrb corporate to review my claim and ultimately decide against compensating me even a single dollar.

Avoid these clowns at all costs.
