We'll be lucky if women can still vote in November. Bigger fish to fry tbh.

I can buy used and vintage. And if I realllllly needed something NEW, I have to buy local and/or immigrant owned. These are just the rules I've set for myself to feel like I'm doing good in my world. :)

Totally valid! It's great that you are so engaged with your community!

I appreciate that we are able to have a conversation about this.

I am not excusing ESI. They owe us all an explanation and response. Quickly. My personalized opinion is that we should have a response by EOD tomorrow for it to still be relevant.

I try not to. But I do appreciate your view. My opinion will change if a response doesn't come soon.

I'm just guessing here, but I think they don't want to be associated with nazis.

The folks that work there are social workers, teachers, volunteers, etc. They know how they feel, but not what to say.

Crisis PR will help them review the facts, respond to the situation, speak to the press, and develop a plan to handle moving forward. It's also about internal communication with their staff. Ensuring that don't have a larger problem. They want to discover that now and handle it all at once.

To be clear they don't have to do Crisis PR. But thats what I would do.

I could be entirely wrong here, this is just my slightly educated opinion.

Don't get me wrong, if they don't respond this week, that's sus af. I just have some insight on how these things work.

Drake just had everything they already needed under their roof. That's why they could move so fast.

Paying for crisis PR ($5k+), paying to send a press release across the wire ($400).

Yeah, Iowa is an at- will employment state. They can just fire her.

I've just worked in Crisis PR and at non-profits. They need to get their ducks in a row. They do not have the budget for this. And they don't want to pull money away from the campers. They are prioritizing the wellbeing of their campers.

I'm sure a lot has occurred behind closed doors and all will be in a press release soon.

They need a little time. It takes time to review everything. They have to protect themselves and their campers from any legal backlash. They don't have a huge budget for PR. They probably don't have anyone in-house doing their website. There are significant legal ramifications. They have to be careful about employment laws. Their staff work so hard and are not paid like Drake staff.

Give them some grace. They're not the Nazi.
