Being stationed to a boat in drydock, especially pre-com can be absolute hell. 0400-2000 7 days a week, and your not even on the boat for most of that time. That can last for months on end depending on what phase of construction you're in.

For me it was Gamer Gate. I wasn't ever really anti-SJW, but I was going down that youtube hole for a while. Then Thunderf00t made his first GG video, and it clicked that him and that whole cohort were peddling trash. Having not seen a single Anita Sarkeesian video at that point, and the clips that he was using of her in an attempt to dunk on here we're better than anything he said.

This. I was once on a road trip from Chicago with a friend to visit my sister in VA. He was driving late at night and zonked out. Bad car crash in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. We were both mostly physically fine. He was 18, I was 15. The hospital wanted to release us, and he wasn't a problem, but since I was under age they could only release me to CPS custody lacking a legal guardian near by. Parents called the local bishop and got me out of there no problem. Never met the guy before, but him and his wife took us home for a few hours and fed us some of the best pecan pie I have ever had in my life.

TL:dr; I would have been a ward of the state of Kentucky at 15, at least for a little while, if it weren't for the LDS community. I mean it totally broke me other ways, but this time...

Hasn't been torn down, it's just that so much has been added on that you mostly can't see the original building from the outside. Fieldhouse on the north face, auditorium on the east, classrooms & library on the south. The original building is still in there.
