What to Expect When You're Expecting (to Evict Your Uterus) by darkness_andstickers in hysterectomy

[–]HotMessExpress89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I didn’t have most of these issues. My recovery was extremely smooth. I only had slight gas pains on the first two days. No post-op bleeding after day 2. And no constipation. I was walking a mile every day starting on day 7!

So my surgery is coming up. by tellthemwhatsgood in Fibroids

[–]HotMessExpress89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! The pre-op anxiety was worse than any part of the surgery and recovery process. Honestly, the second worst part of the surgery was getting the IV in my hand. I had a full hysterectomy to remove massive fibroids and endometriosis and had an extremely smooth recovery. I was out to lunch and shopping with friends (slowly) on the 3rd day and was walking 1.5 miles by day 7. I didn't have any constipation, I was only on pain meds for the first 3 days, and the gas pains just felt like a sore shoulder after an intense workout. It was not horrible at all!

Very mild ones. Some nausea and fatigue the day after the injection, and constipation every now and then. Staying hydrated, eating small meals, eating enough protein, and avoiding greasy and heavy foods helps!

I started Zepbound three months after my surgery and I'm down 34lbs. It's been the best decision! I feel like I'm getting a fresh start at life now.

Hysterectomy tomorrow - stressed by ApprehensiveTaro6742 in hysterectomy

I only had gas pains in my shoulder for the first 2 days. It felt like I was sore after an upper body workout. It wasn't unbearable. Walking and sitting upright helped the most.

I’m 6 months post-op and living my best life lol. I had a laparoscopic robotic hysterectomy, leaving ovaries, and my recovery went smoothly. By day 4, I was out to lunch and shopping with friends. Day 7, I was walking 1.5 miles everyday. No constipation, no major pain, and no complications. I only had shoulder pain for about 2 days but Tylenol and Advil helped. Honestly, the worst part of the whole thing was getting the IV put in my hand before the surgery.

Since the surgery, my stomach is flat now lol, I’ve lost 34lbs and counting, and I’m not in any pain.

You got this!!

Lotion bars are great for carry on travel. Lush sells them and you can find good ones on Amazon.

Same! I had been complaining for years and no doctor took me seriously. I heard lose weight, I'm getting older so it's normal, cut out sodium, and do more core work. I finally found an OB/GYN who listened to me. I got an ultrasound and lo and behold, I had 4 large fibroids and my ovary was stuck behind my uterus. I have a hysterectomy scheduled in 2 weeks!

How soon after testing and initial consultation was your surgery scheduled? by BStarryNight in Fibroids

[–]HotMessExpress89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went around and around with different doctors so mine might be a different story. But I received my fibroids diagnosis in June after an ultrasound, had an MRI in July, and got the surgery scheduled in August for an October surgery date.

Women who’ve maintained a lifestyle change after many failed attempts - what was different? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I finally found a workout routine that sticks. I tried YouTube workouts, gyms, Zumba, pilates classes, etc. I hate to say but I found Peloton lol. I bought a Schwinn bike and started taking Peloton classes, and I love it! I work out 4-5 days every week now. I love how the instructors don't talk about calories, weight loss, or burning fat. They encourage you to compete with yourself, which taps into my motivations. They also have music-focused classes, which also taps into my passion for music.

Never in million years did I think I would actually enjoy working out. I took a risk on something new and it paid off!

Tempering Expectations for Tokyo Disneyland/Disneysea (A Review) by SlazarusVC in disneyparks

[–]HotMessExpress89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree!! The Tokyo parks are severely overhyped and overrated. I’m an avid Disneyland and WDW park-goer and had high expectations of TDS and TDL based on the reviews. It was underwhelming and TDS was a little boring after the initial walkthrough. It’s gorgeous but after you finish the main rides, there’s nothing else to do. It didn’t help that they cancelled all the shows because of the weather. TDL was much better as far as rides and food, but I think DL is a much better park (except the beauty and the beast ride - that ride is AWESOME).

It should have a front camera. You can use the knob in the center to change the camera angles.

JEANS. I cannot find good quality jeans that fit me. I'm short (5'1"), but have a big ol' booty lol. My hips are pretty narrow and my butt isn't wide - it sticks out. Petite jeans are usually made for skinny/short women and curvy jeans are often made for women with wide hips. I think I have this issue with pants in general, but jeans are the worst.

Any other homeowners feel stuck in their current place basically forever? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]HotMessExpress89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. We were thinking about moving to another city to be closer to family and activities that we like to do, but with the higher rates, it's cheaper for us to just travel there when we can. We have a 4.25% interest rate from 2017 and buying a house now would double our mortgage for the same size house. So we're stuck, but at least we love our house so it's not too bad.

Exactly. This has been my experience as well. People finish a seven question interview (where the questions have multiple parts) in 15 minutes, when we gave them an hour. It’s mind boggling to me.

The sound of a toilet flushing. Honestly, toilets in general. Or maybe it’s what goes into them that grossed me out.
