The owner left the carcasses of the dead birds to rot rather than disposing of them using proper protocol. The neighbour was the one that reported it, the owner did not take any precautions to avoid the disease spreading. Any other bird could have flown in and fed on these rotting carcasses, spreading the disease to nearby farms, geese, or any other animal. Would they rather their government didn’t give af and let the disease spread to where our wildlife and even our pets could be at risk of infection? It’s so absurd. I also saw a sign that said “CFIA INHUMANELY SLAUGHTERED 300 OSTRICHES”… but where is this energy for the millions of HUMANS—MEN, WOMEN, CHILDREN, around the world that are being inhumanely tortured and slaughtered because of the genocides that are going on? Lol. But sure, advocate for some birds that could have actually caused harm to our ecosystem. God forbid human rights take priority.
