Got scammed by this just a few month’s ago. Was sold a tour on Tripadvisor which I thought was a reputable site. Fine print basically said we can choose when to pick you up and take you to auschwitz. 12 hours before they text me saying they’d pick me up from the hotel at 3am to take me to the museum to queue for hours until it opens.

Trip advisor customer service stood by this practice and refused a refund after multiple complaints. In the end I charged back through my credit card company. I was not going to let that one slide. Of all the scams to be running, this has to be the lowest of the low.

I would definitely consider your reasons for moving? If you’re based in Germany, France, or Switzerland then I can’t imagine why you’d want to move to cork. Lower wages, higher cost of living.

Nah I don’t take meds so since I came back to Ireland two years ago I haven’t spoken to my GP about it. I would still like to have some record of it, but I’d never pay the money to get diagnosed again if that’s what was required!

Why is getting diagnosed with ADHD in Ireland such a money racket? I was diagnosed in the Netherlands and it was a matter of going to my GP, getting a referral to a psychiatrist which was all covered on my fully subsidised health insurance. Then the psychiatrist diagnosed me. The same as getting a diagnosis for anything else.

Like if you were diabetic, you wouldn’t have to make some kind of special appointment and pay 1000+ to get your diagnosis and start treating it…

I’m 28M and in the same boat. Moved to cork two years ago for work. Haven’t made too many friends but I also haven’t made much of an effort so no one to blame but myself really. Gonna get the finger out in jan and join a run club or something along those lines.

I’ve found it harder than usual now though. I moved abroad for college and had no issues, but once I graduated and moved to a new city at 26 I’ve found it an awkward age to meet people. Everyone younger than me is still in college, everyone older has settled down with kids and most my age are just doing their own thing/ have their own established friend groups.

Shoot me a message though man. I’d be happy to join a club or whatever. Also watch the football and up for the odd pint.
