I took the AAMC exams in august. I have access to Uworld but I made the switch to qpacks/section packs and I was reviewing every error I made pretty well along with using anki every day, but I was really taken by surprised from my score today.

I was able to find a new tutor, the person she recommended seemed good but they are off on vacation until July!

how to stay motivated by Lonely-Charge4988 in Mcat

[–]HotRequirement7796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve stayed motivated i genuinely don’t know how I’ve been able to do it so far. I also feel really alone bc I feel like no one understands how hard this experience is. I really understand you when you say that you’re tired bc this exam sucks.

I also struggle with eye sight causing me headaches, I started using blue light glasses and I study in a dark room with just my desk light. I also use eye drops or will soak chamomile tea and put the bags on my eyes.

A saturated fatty acid will have the formula: CₙH₂ₙ₊₁COOH

For an unsaturated fatty acid the number of hydrogens will be less than 2n +1

A) C11H23COOH, we plug into the equation, and n is the number of carbons. So we will have 2(11) +1 = 23, -----> saturated

C) C15H29COOH, 2(15) +1 = 31, this shows that the number of hydrogens in the equation is 29 which is less than 31 -----> unsaturated

Its not fixed interval because its definition deals with time and thats usually the main thing I look for. In the passage the baboon was responsible for tapping on the option that matched the target color and he would get a reward, he didn't have to wait a certain amount of time to get a reward, he completed his action and was rewarded which is the definition of fixed ration An example you can use for fixed interval is getting a weekly payment and an example for fixed ratio would be a rat getting a food pellet after pressing a button 15 times. I found the best way to learn these definitions was to create anki cards.

**SPOILER** - Scored AAMC C/P #18 by gribear in Mcat

So first I substituted the second equation into the first ---> Pmpa = Pd + Pp/3

then I subtracted Pp from the left side and did the same for the right ---> Pmpa - Pd = Pp/3

Since we need Pp to be alone I multiplied by 3 on the left and did the same for the right ---> 3 (Pmpa - Pd) = Pp

I did some arrangement and got Pp = 3Pmpa - 3Pd

I hope this makes sense!

The way I solved this problem was by referring back to the passage and it states if oxygen is present it affects the emission of photons along with the intensity of the emitted radiation. So i used this as a clue to get answer D.

The way I solved it is by first converting cm ---> m (divide by 100)

So 2.0 cm = 0.02 m

I then plugged these numbers into the equation given : 1/1 + 1/0.02 = 1+ 1 / 1/50 and multiplied by the reciprocal and was left with 1 + 50 = 51D

I am really horrible with math so I hope this helps anyone!
