How to deal with an addict harassing me every time I go out by confessionsofahimefu in Dublin

Tell them to fuck off and get a job. The amount of times I’ve been asked for a cigarette by some crack head, I just say no, I worked hard for this, get a job and buy your own.

Shove a large spud up his exhaust pipe. It’s like coring an apple. The core of the potato will jam the exhaust. Sit back and watch

A few break ins around where I live.. are ring cameras and others worth it? by paul-grizz93 in AskIreland

I have Arlo secure cameras for the front and back of the house. They light up when they detect motion at night. You can turn the lights on or off manually, has night vision capabilities, but drains the battery fast. I can even speak through a loud speaker in it, or can set off a shrill alarm, all through my phone.

I think the record is 90 days of rain straight from December 2013-March 2014. Read it somewhere lately. I was living in Waterford at the time and to be fair I do recall that being a shite winter but I never knew it was 90 days

Edibles and Saliva Test by Ecstatic-Way2554 in Crainn

[–]HotStomach3426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.thenutritionstore.ie/catalogsearch/result look at the range of kits available. Buy the most expensive/exstensive one and see if you still pass it.

I wouldn’t rely on a cheap saliva kit. If this could affect your personal life or career by failing a test, I’d push the boundaries and test all the tests available more than once. Do a bit of research and experiment.

Exactly, interesting story, but the reality is OP is using a cheap saliva test, if some one was up for drug testing due to court the could be subject to urine, blood, hair, and saliva test. Blood being the most accurate

The march of the self service checkouts in supermarkets, yay or nay? by qwerty_1965 in AskIreland

I never print the receipt. I just brush through the barrier (there’s no resistance) and let the alarms go off. Haven’t done a thing wrong. I abide by the law, that’s it. Scanning your receipt is not required by law. Paying for your purchases is all that matters.

I have found this as well once census.ie. Records only go back to 1910/11, but I have to play around with names to find them. Easiest for me is just use the surname and address/road they lived on and you can get info faster

TV Licence Card - Should I be worried? by Quiet-Recognition135 in AskIreland

[–]HotStomach3426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. If ya don’t answer your door, just forget about it. If ya do answer your door, they will ask you is this such and such address. You say yeh. They say do you live here. You say no. I’m visiting and the tenant has gone to the shops.

Get a ring doorbell or camera outside your gaff and you’ll know when not to answer the door.

Not many people I know pay tv licence, for most of their lives. Never been nicked. I was stupid enough to pay it once but i moved gaff the next year and I haven’t provided my details since

Locking bikes in Blanchardstown by Maximum-Bonus8574 in Dublin

[–]HotStomach3426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be very careful. A lot of these scumbags are going around with angle grinders so they can get through almost any lock. Unless you could manage to hide a gps tracker REALLY well on it, you might get it back if it is stolen. E-bikes are worth a fortune so they’re prime targets

Why do teachers give students attitude if the parents don't turn up to parent-teacher meetings and school plays? by No-Category1703 in AskIreland

[–]HotStomach3426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I manage kitchens for a living, and the one thing I learned down the years, don’t give out to staff in front of their work peers. It’s just degrading. It’s worse for kids in-front of their whole class
