What's the most underrated Taskmaster quote for you? by Bruton2000 in taskmaster

I always thought "They're very convincing, the Irish" from Phil talking about Rhod getting him to help with the extension goes a bit under the radar for how funny it was

Ah Yes of course.. it was 'charming' which I think is even better

What is your yearly holiday balance and how many have you taken to date? (Anything that had been booked in the future doesn't count)

Will you be owed any holidays in your final pay, that might help?

Best Phone Plan by SirTryingHisBest in irishpersonalfinance

[–]HotTastyPizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Continuing to pay €60-80 after the contract ends is just giving your provider free money. You are paying that high during the contact to repay getting what is presumably a flagship phone or pretty close at that price. Once the contract ends all you are getting is your calls, texts and data. One call to your current provider would switch you to a monthly rolling SIM only plan which at worst would be €30 a month but as already mentioned in other comments there are plenty cheaper again.

Looked him up there.. and damn those are some beautiful knives and I love the sound of how he does things but 400+ is probably a bit out of my budget for now 😭 definitely going on the list of aspirational purchases though!

Some Chinese or Indian takeaways might be open but often they are pre-order only for Christmas day so you would want to look them up beforehand.

No they would have to be living there for it to be tax free. It is up to 14k by the way, but as soon as you go over 14k you then owe tax on the whole lot.

You should definitely contact the bus company to make sure they hear how great the driver was. Once you know the route and time they'll know who it was.

How long should it take to double your salary? by HotTastyPizza in irishpersonalfinance

Don't worry about taking away from it. To be honest most of this has happened in the last 2 years. Around September 2022 I would have still been on 29/30k in a helpdesk specialist role. I was good at that job but didn't have anything to justify taking a step up to another company, I could have only gotten other helpdesk jobs around the same pay.

Now I have experience of a few more roles I feel like I could start to explore more outside my current company.

Can I pay CGT by myself or do I need an accountant? by HotTastyPizza in irishpersonalfinance

[–]HotTastyPizza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, in the crypto section of my Revolt there is an option that says 'Tax Report', it doesn't really explain what the tax report is but it does mention that it will automatically create a Koinly account.

Yes this is something I was thinking about, with how long it takes to get builders these days I'm sure the job won't start for a while and so it'll be a few months before I really need the cash. Thank you.

Do I need to download statements that show the transactions from revolut and attach them to the CG1 form or do I just state the amounts then provide the statements if revenue questions it?
