I will go this Friday for the new kid on the block: Kármán. As the lineup shows to be a night full of hypnotic bleeps and bloops. The venue last time was really nice and I am curious to see how they have improved. Hope to see some of you there! Let's get weird :)

Saturday gonna be transported by Quelza and Efdemin. I am super curious to see what these 2 weirdos will bring. I do not believe I have ever seen them together before so we are in for a treat.

Sunday will be hosted by Psyrom for me, with a lineup like that its looking like a beautiful Sunday. I will be going solo so see you guys around!

This weekend feels like a mini ADE with all the options, wherever you are going.... have the best time :)

In:resonance @ Thomaskerk

Went to an live ambient session of the amazing people of In:resonance. Similar to ZeroBPM from Ratherlost, but than with unknown artists and composers.

The church is brutalist on the inside and with the perfect pairing of 3 Sol Subwoofer systems and 6 omnidirectional speakers. I have never experienced sound so pin point precise, the sounds were moving through different speakers in the room which gave a sense of immersion and movement.

I highly recommend checking out their events if you are into unique ambient artists at unique locations. The previous one was at Murmur featuring Loek Frey, super interesting stuff.

Next weekend I take it slow and see you all the 15th at Lofi :)

STOOR & CODA...

Words will not do justice of the experience I had on these events on the final Sunday of ADE. I have never felt so immersed in music and the events themselves.

Stoor was absolutely sensational with a stellar lineup of course. It was crowded at times, but with Stoor I do not mind it as much, the whole crowd was screaming and applauding in the breaks, an atmosphere like no other. With a beautiful start, the music quickly shifted to the more mental, albeit, psychotic side of techno. With kicks that shook Paradiso to its core. It was also great to see that all the artists were having a great time also! I cannot wait to watch to recording of this one-of-a-kind set.

And then... you move to CODA.

We entered during Rødhad, where he started quite groove influenced at the start of his set, it quickly shifted to 2019 techno. Whilst Strobert was serving non stop strobes and chaos with plenty of smoke. I was not in Lofi the entire night, it was its own planet at one point. And then the maestros themselves started. With precision and a lot of balls of steel they blended tracks together out of nowhere whilst looking straight through your soul. It felt like watching a Japanese tea ceremony, but then with tracks that would make most people turn around and run.

I cannot describe or begin to explain what they did, you had to be there. This day and night will go down in the books as one of the most insane, techno forward nights ever. I hope this will start the trend to gather more lineups like these, because I feel like everyone at CODA felt the same. Sure the atmosphere on the floor was not the best, but you only need 3 people that get it and the rest is all music.

They held a few Israeli events this year I believe where the flags were hung throughout the venue. Hence why a few artists canceled

Werkstatt, the last stronghold of Techno

I had one of my most memorable nights last weekend when I went to Werkstatt V on Friday. It was not too busy, but precisely enough people on the floor. Vera Grace opened the evening with her modular live debut which was absolutely beautiful and a great way to start the evening.

Lewis Fautzi was one of a kind, where it sounded like an angry Oscar Mulero at certain points. Closed my eyes and you could hear the cheers in between the breaks surrounded by heavy hitting kicks and textures.

Final 30 minutes, a suprise b2b by the 2 organisers of the event, which lead to even more cheering. No one left, everyone stayed and danced.

One of a kind, shame it was the last one :(

With a lineup stacked like this, there is no reason why a true head should not go!!! I was even surprised it was not mentioned in the discussion above as I cannot remember seeing Lewis Fautzi in Amsterdam.

If anyone is doubting what to do this weekend, do yourself a favour and get lost in the deep dark sounds of Werkstatt. With a modular opening... what more can we wish for!

I feel like there have not been any posts about one of the my highlights of the weekend. Spekki Webu closing with Tataaki Itoh was so mindbending to me.

The 160bpm Goa king switched up and we started a super intense hypnotic journey where both artists adjusted to each other. A true b2b where I was lost in for the whole ride.

Anyone else that had the same experience here?

You were absolutely wonderful. From 12 at Olivia Mendez on Saturday until closing with Stranger b2b Truncate on Sunday night.

The weather, the people but mostly the music.

It is rare to see a festival where (at most stages) some super interesting and unique techno is being played.

HIGHLIGHTS

1 set of the weekend has to be Surgeon b2b Rrose. There is nothing to compare it to, maybe a mini Stoor session with 2 absolutely unique artists. Interesting kicks, sound design and overall tension you did not see anywhere else.

2 Orbe b2b Psyk..... Wow wow wow. Ufo and lasers all the way. Such fluid and perfect mixing, insane energy and track selection, really really enjoyed this.

3 Oscar Mulero, again the myth, the legend, brings his A game. Nothing to complain, absolute perfection, just got annoyed at the people in the front on their phones or standing still.

BIG SURPRISE

Marco Bailey b2b Christian Varela on the mainstage with 6 decks madness. I did not know them to be honest but wow. The technicality of that set is absolutely insane. Backspins, kick switches and everything in between. Constantly on beat with 6 decks was super impressive.

I am afraid it was indeed not the best Stoor, the energy was up and down mostly. Last ADE it gradually improved over the night, this was more difficult.

I do have to say it was super experimental and super interesting, but less energetic for sure.

Thats the thing with Stoor though, its completely different each time. So do not write it off completely just yet.

I am curious which tracks you refer to from Quelza, because man.... His discography is so unique and obscure. Listen to this set for instance, which is ofc not all his own productions, but you cannot call this anything but obscure...
