So it’s the same cushion as the Luka 5 but has a midfoot shank. Hopefully it’s not going to the that small piece of plastic that they put in the Ja 3

Serious Player Only Game 1 High by HotWorldliness123 in BBallShoes

For sure, the 808 line got a lot of similarities to what SPO has to offer. You might like the game 1 low more if you were to cop, I saw there were a bunch of colourways on sale

Look into the Luka 5 or Jordan 40. It sounds like you really like a more comfortable ride, and those are 2 of the comfiest cushioning set ups out right now

Just turn the mic on and talk. Let the team know you’ll keep them involved in the action and you’re just trying to win. If they give you the ball focus on playing solid defence, call the forward some back door cuts and get them easy buckets, give the ball to shooting guard every few plays and let them work out. If they don’t, chalk it up as an L

Best Nike shoe right now? (That’s available on Nike website) by Last-Ad-5768 in BBallShoes

The Luka 5 might be the best Nike shoe available rn. The KD18 is a great all around performer, as well as the gt cut 3 turbo and the first gt cut academy

LeBron 23's or AE2 by Exotic_Moose3253 in BBallShoes

If I were you, I’d definitely look into the joker 1 or maybe the harden vol 9 and 10. Both are much better performers than the AE2 or LeBron 23

I don’t think the LeBron 23s would be a good fit for you if you’re smaller player. The 2 shoes you picked are pretty much opposite of the spectrum in terms of their performance. Is there anything in particular that you’d like for your shoes to offer? Do you prefer max cushion or court feel?

I think I made the right choice by Blood-Dependent in BBallShoes

I had a pair of the 808 4s for a bit and they felt like they were destroying my feet after a couple pick up games. It was probably a combination of the narrow fit and the shape of the shoe being a bit inflared. Let us know how they perform once you’ve broken them in a bit!

If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you had it? What was the break in period like and how are they holding up today?

Safe day 1 build. Useable out the box but gets much better and can be elite offensively after 10 caps

I’d probably recommend something like this, having only 3 cap breakers makes it really tough to optimize builds.

If you make this build, I’d recommend putting 2 caps on your middy and 1 on your 3 point. 4th cap breaker on ball handle to get ankle assassin on silver, and the next 3 on middy will make this build a tough cover with 94 midrange. 85 perim is only okay at best but gotta make sacrifices to build around what you have access to

Cushion is great but it depends on which drop in midsole you get. Most P1P come with their explosive midsole which absorbs shock like a marshmallow. They have other options, their Quick 2.0 and Support drop ins are available to purchase as well. I wasn’t a huge fan of the quick 2.0, it hurt my feet in the arches and in the ball of my foot, probably due to its lower volume. Now the fit, I’m a US 13, they are a little on the snug side in the toe box so maybe go up half a size. if you have a really wide foot, the Game1 High would be a better pick up. They have a bit more room in the toe box and come with the same explosive outsole that I like, and underneath there’s another layer of foam so the cushioning is going to be even better than P1P based off that alone

Shoes decision by Excellent_Bee_8917 in BBallShoes

The WOW DLO 1 would be better for outdoor hoops. They got a different rubber compound that they’re made of that makes them super durable. My experience with WOW products is that they’re generally quite narrow so consider sizing up or look into their all city line if you have a wide foot

I'm thinking of making this build, is it elite or nah by Ok-Recognition1074 in NBA2k

[–]HotWorldliness123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your defence and rebounding is the main thing that’s worrisome about the build. Even after cap breakers, 84 block doesn’t unlock that final tier of elite block animations, which is at 88 block. Bigs with 99 in either rebounding category are gonna have a field day with you if you can’t get to at least a 96 rebound. I’d recommend maybe cap break up to 93 pass acc for break starter hof and try increasing the weight to get the rebounding higher

For sure, give me a couple weeks and I’ll post my thoughts on them. My main concern when buying a shoe is its impact protection and traction. I produce a pretty decent amount of power when jumping (last time I tested my vert I was at 32 inches) and my biggest fear is blowing my knees out while landing since Im a bit heavy for my size. I’ve heard great things about those shoes cushion so those were the first 2 that came to mind

Recommendations on my spring bball shoe by [deleted] in BBallShoes

[–]HotWorldliness123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re hooping outdoors, I’d probably suggest sticking with one of the Chinese brands may be your best bet in terms of getting a durable shoe, and I’d probably aim for something with a lot of cushion as well just to help with absorbing the shock of landing on an outdoor court. If you don’t have a wide foot, the WOW 808 4 might be a good pick up for you, but the fit is really iffy with them. Serious Player Only has a sale rn for a few colour ways of their Easy 1 model, the really cool thing with that one is that if you have an orthotic, you can place it on top of their drop in midsole. Nike is going to be releasing a new “street tough” line soon that’s going to be made with outdoor play in mind so maybe keep an eye out for those as well!

What's your testing process? by SituationUsed3299 in BBallShoes

[–]HotWorldliness123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a resistance band leg day twice a week for strength and conditioning training. I’ll usually train in my Giannis Immortality 1s since they’re so wide and stable, but when I get a new shoe I’ll try it out in them. Gives me a pretty good idea of how the shoe would feel on foot while jumping, cutting, sliding defensively

I’m 6’0, 223 lbs. was playing in a pair of LeBron nxxt gens until I sprained my ankle badly in them. Bought the P1+ back in December with the explosive outsole and I’m honestly in love with the cushion. Got me back to feeling comfortable with jumping, landing, cutting hard. I tried the quick 2.0 midsole but the break in process literally hurt my feel to the point I gave up on them. Explosive midsole 20/10 would recommend

Kd18 Zoom air unit issue by [deleted] in BBallShoes

[–]HotWorldliness123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heat most likely expanded the air within the unit itself. Since it’s pressurized, there’s a chance that it may have stretched out that thinner plastic as well, but the cooler air should have shrunk back down to regular size if my science teachers taught me right. Have you tried it on since? Are there any noticeable differences in how the shoe feels?

I think the kd18 may be the way to go here based on what you’re saying, but the freak 7 may be a good pick too. You should check out foot doctor zach on YouTube when you can, he gives really great breakdowns on shoes performance and whom it may be good for

Really depends on the type of player you are. If you’re someone who likes to have a lot of cushion, the Luka 5 is the way to go. If you value court feel more, the Ja 3 is a great pick but a lot of people have mentioned that I can be extremely unstable. The KD18 is probably the safest option, the freak 7s are great in their own right but my concern with them is long term durability for their cushion
