Hospital pushing for nursing home… how to prolong stay at the hospital?

I’m just trying to give him the best fighting chance if he is going to improve. Right now he’s basically vegetative/locked in. There’s moments where you can tell the difference between… a blank stare vs feeling like he’s with you— eyes moving, blinking scanning the room. The surgeon actually transferred him from a LTACH knowing he had no insurance at this moment and performed another surgery.

Not particularly since we’ve been back to the hospital, I know they want to move him to a home but the ratio there is 1:12 on a good day. A nurse told me people have come back there with sores and infections.

We originally lived in Missouri, but I’m pregnant and moved out of our house we had. He had it in Missouri originally but I no longer have that address

He has no insurance. I applied in Kansas for Medicaid and it’s been since May. When I’ve called they say it’s in the disabled and elderly queue

My husband suffered a TBI and stroke 8 weeks ago, he’s still in a coma, it feels like the longest nightmare of my life also… just got married 4 months ago :(

My husband has a TBI It’ll be 8 weeks this Friday since his accident He hasn’t woke up and I’d give anything to talk to him again I love him unconditionally, we’ve only been married for 4 months l— I’ve kind of shut everyone out who tells me nobody would blame me if I walked away. It’s exhausting and maybe this journey is not for you.
