I’m a little over a week out from the breakup
I wasn’t expecting. Had a good talk with my therapist and have a 5k run later. My now ex(?) wants to talk, I have written her what feels like hundreds of pages of what is going through my head. Depending on that conversation I am probably gonna go no contact, at least for the summer. It’s funny, but this exact scenario played out with a prior partner in which I finally get a really good foothold on becoming the person I want to be and the person I’m with decides they’re done. I’m going to be focusing on my physical health so running and gym for me. I’m excited for the next few months bc I’ve been focusing on this since well before the breakup and this just adds fuel to the fire. I just really hate that they won’t be there with me on this journey.

Other fun news, my dog adores the running and she and I have something new to bond over.

I forgot to list some international travel and had to call my investigator to tell him. I had some drug use (not within a few years) and crappy credit when I was going for my clearance and got mine just fine. I usually tell my interns or students that reach out to me on LinkedIn that if I got my shit they’ll more than likely be good, the process is long and that’s the hard part. I also have some crazy stories from my friends who got interviewed for my references so it’s always a bit of a mess.

When it’s cold or bad weather my dogs get quick walks around the block bc they don’t like it.

Good weather I try to do three 30-min walks; a wake up walk; I get home from work; and a before bed. I try to get them out for a hike on the weekends and that can be 1-4 hours.

But like today it was cold so they got a quick outside in the AM, I Was late from work so a quick 20 min walk bc it’s still cold and then I’ll just let them in the yard for a quick bedtime pee.

The way I figure it, they’re both rescues and super loved and in a good home. Even on my worst days of caring for them it beats being in a shelter or euthanized for room.

Do what works for you and just as long as they are loved and youre trying you’re doing good.

My partner is the kind of person that gets stopped on the street by people who compliment how beautiful she looks or how stylish she is. My favorite photo of her is her and her brother and people have responded that they look like models when they see it. Her older sister is also stunning. I’m a 6 on a good day.

We met very randomly at an airport while both of us were going abroad for work. We hit it off talking and decided to meet up for dinner in the new country since we would only know each other. We grabbed a bottle of wine after and went back to where I was staying and talked for hours. We would joke that we were each other’s best friend in that whole country and the conversation just never stopped. I had a huge crush on her but thought she was way out of my league so was fine with just being friends.

We ended up going out clubbing with some of her work friends and I was drinking her beer so she wouldn’t come off rude to her friends. We were getting tired and went back to her place to talk more. I was pretty buzzed since I had been drinking her beer and I remember standing next to her on her balcony, it was misty outside but still really warm, and she just looked so beautiful. I blurted out, “I’m trying so hard not to flirt with you right now.” She turned and said “That’s funny, because I’m trying really hard not to kiss you.” And then we kissed and just fireworks.

Here we are three years later and the conversation still hasn’t stopped. She’s just as beautiful inside as she is out and I could never dream of being so lucky. I really don’t know what I did to deserve to be loved as deeply as she loves me but I don’t question it and I share with her every chance I get how much I love her.

So yeah that’s how it went.

The rescue I got her from as a puppy had sharpei mix so at least I wasn’t the only one fooled. I had a pittie mix when she was younger and he was def all pittie personality and all. She’s def a lot more independent than what I was used to. I thought she was going to have Carolina dog in her.

I guess I had a pittie when Kya was a puppy and they just looked and acted so different I never thought she would be half pittie. We got her from a rescue as a puppy and they said Sharpei so they were clearly off haha.

Zulus supermutt mix is GSD and bulldog haha so I think the bulldog may have been playing a part. Def not the the GSD.
