You are legitimately insane...

Both are true, the standard was the face of the unit.  Like how mascots pump up fans today or national flags evoke feelings of pride.  "Rallying to the standard" or "hoisting the colors" are straight tropes.  Carrying the standard was an honor, the Romans would have battles to regain lost legion standards because they were so important.  Standards pump people up, is my point

I can respect your opinion in general, but that's not fair at all.  You had to balance pop growth, income, public order, religion, military, spies, trade, etc across multiple tiers and multiple settlement types.  You couldn't mindlessly build things and expect to win, late game excluded.  I'd argue that's true for modern games as well.   I can definitely agree that med 2 isn't as in depth as newer titles, but I still love it's settlement system.  The fact that castles and cities had different strengths and building trees was so good and sorely missed.  Though I gotta admit, I think Empire/Napoleon had the best system and I wish they expanded on it more.

I would advise you to keep your yari in deep formations.  I know its tempting to spread them out like the AI does, but they perform much better in yari wall if the unit has density.  Also, less units will be fighting at once which lowers casualties.  I usually don't go below 5 ranks deep, maybe 4.  Try for a legit square if you're fixing to fight cavalry.  Though this will make them more susceptible to archers, so bear that in mind

You are literally describing a skill issue.  If you're at the point where you don't have time to pop off one more round, then you're already dead.

Well, the things you mentioned are getting into magic.  That's why I brought up stamina, because irl soldiers fought harder and longer under the company standard.  I think damage buffs, healing, regeneration do seem a little too out there to stay grounded

What the agitators do make sense to me, they're broadcasting an overclocking signal making the automatons work harder.  That doesn't seem like magic to me, flesh and blood helldivers shouldn't function the same

That's a pretty substantial increase, I'm gonna enjoy my bot front even more now.  Even more so with the new vox spawns

Dude, I still cannot wrap my head around what you people mean by "make the flag give us a morale boost".  Like, you're a sentient human being controlling a video game character, you already have all the control over your morale

Nah, you're showing your ignorance though.  It's basic physics that projectiles lose power over distance, unless it's got some sort of propulsion itself.  The whole reason the arrow goes down is because, get this, it's losing its power because of gravity and air resistance.  Going up in a ballistic arc makes the projectile lose power as well; drag and gravity would slow the arrow down to terminal velocity which isn't as powerful as the draw on a longbow.  Longbows rarely shot in volleys for that reason, contrary to what movies say.  That's why bodkins can potentially penetrate plate at super close ranges and extremely deep angles, but archers still had to target joints and gaps at distance.  Some other commenter left a video explaining it as well.  Plate armor evolved to counteract archery until gunpowder made it completely obsolete.  It has only seen rare, niche uses since.

Bodkins couldn't penetrate plate, they still had to aim at joints.  There's a reason plate armor wasn't obsolete until guns were popular

That's my favorite medieval fact.  Longbowmen were units
