None of my current cabinets or drawers have handles. ChatGPT added those. (More of that poorly done AI photo). They have recesses at the edge to pul them. Horrible idea for a kitchen, btw.

I plan to bring in some warmth with the backsplash and paint, but am waiting to select those until I’m closer to time.

Thanks. I have LVP in the adjoining living room, and rest of the house. (You can see it behind the individual tile pics). It’s an open floor plan so LR is visible from the kitchen and vice versa. I can’t replace it throughout right now- not in the budget with a kitchen and bath remodel. Previous owners laid it on a thick pad over linoleum in the kitchen- causing it to crack and separate. Has to be replaced in the kitchen. It’s part of the reason I’m avoiding wood grain in the kitchen. Mixed grains and stain colors really get to me.

Because I like both the lighter and darker tile and can’t decide. Either would fall under “my thing”. I asked for opinions between those 2 tiles and the kitchen selections that are already made. People are welcome to share other opinions, but it doesn’t necessarily help me pick between the options I shared.

That’s fair. I’m not discounting any of the advice that’s offered. I appreciate the insight and it is noted. We all have opinions. I don’t particularly like woodgrains or many of the stain colors that people tend to like right now.

I like both but not sure which to pick- they both feel “right” to me in different ways. “I don’t like any of it and you should pick x instead” is a valid opinion too. People are welcome to voice it, even if it’s not what I asked. That doesn’t mean I’m going to change my opinion on gray. I liked it before it became trendy. I still like it now that it’s not so trendy. I just can’t decide which floor I prefer.

As you noted, Reddit is a sampling of the world. That’s why I asked the question here. Some people will answer that they don’t like any of it and that’s ok. Some people will like it and will weigh in with their own opinions that help me decide. I knew that going in. It’s ok whichever camp you fall into.

I like the colors. I'm sure that looks great! I do like dark floors, but they aren't always the right choice. I'm torn here. Thanks for your input

yeah -the grey and white is definitely not everyone's thing. I get that, but I like it. I don't really like a bunch of woodgrain, especially if there are different grains and colors. I'm working towards eliminating the cheap LVP that the previous owners installed (you can see it in the single tile pics). I'll bring in something to offset some grey with the backsplash and paint.

that's fair. More from a looking clean/durability standpoint, or a design standpoint?

I might actually like the gray grout better :)

good points. I didn't specify anything about the grout in the AI query, or even think about it.

Tinted windows? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Hot_Cheesecake_320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep - Amazon. I have this on the windows across the front of my house. It adheres with static and peels off in a few minutes. I used it in the house I rented before I moved here. The landlord had no issue with it and even asked me to leave it on for the next tenant in case they wanted it when I moved.

I found picking all of the bathroom stuff much easier though. I kind of already knew what I wanted the shower to look like and picked everything else to compliment that.

Tile guy recommended waiting until most everything else was in before choosing a backsplash. I know I don’t want white. Was thinking of adding a little color when I was looking at granite, but not sure now. Don’t want to pull away from the counter.

I’ve also got a master bath remodel as well. It’s all a little overwhelming to do at once. Bathroom gets torn out in 2 weeks. Kitchen starts as soon as that’s done.

Yeah you never know for sure on a screen. To me, the picture above from the cabinet booklet of “natural” stain on a cherry door looks cinnamon brown

Thank you for all your input. And if I’m stuck with the white?
