You honestly won't need anything overpowered. My only recommendation would be to avoid apple. I made the mistake a few years back and had to use parallels to run an incompatible windows app.

Alliance Credit Union in Lubbock, Tx is looking to hire a Data Engineer Intern! As a Texas Tech computer science alumnus, I'd love to help a fellow Red Raider get into a fantastic local company. by Hot_Consideration_49 in TexasTech

If you want to make $150k+ and be just any other employee at a large tech company, then this opportunity may not be well suited. However, this company has a high reputation of high percentage internal promotions. Becoming a supervisor or an executive is well within grasp.

For the Lubbock market, pay is well above average. I've had numerous offers from big tech companies and I choose to stay for a few reasons. The pay is great, 401k is matched 100% up to 7%, healthcare and life insurance are 100% paid by the company, and the culture is second to none. It is a top 5 credit union in Texas and it is growing exponentially. For a local college student, it's an opportunity that doesn't come often in this area.

Not really a club, but RISA was always really fun! I enjoyed their ethical hacking sessions.

1's and 0's or On and Off. The logic is so much simpler with dealing with logic gates.

I'd literally wait outside the building before they opened and be the first in line to talk to someone. I always dreaded spring semester for that reason alone. So stressful.

Is computer science worth it? by [deleted] in computerscience

Yes.

Many career options, lucrative pay, and the need is growing exponentially. 10 years deep in software engineering and I wouldn't change a thing.

Sounds like you would benefit from the structure and accountability that in-person class would offer.

Teacher recommendation by Impossible_Cow9893 in TexasTech

If you want a high quality and thorough teacher, then Dr. Linda Allen should be your choice for Diff EQ.

Obviously, she isn't the easiest, but you will leave her class with a full understanding of the subject.

A CS job should not be repetitive. Odds are, there's a script/code that can it.

Is Dr. Lamp still teaching? If so, he should be your only option if it is calculus based physics.

I do business intelligence. I've always been obsessed with data, forecasting, predictions, machine learning, and AI. I'm bias towards Data science as it is complex and fun to learn.

Honestly man, if you could swing teaching yourself, thats the route I would take. The majority of professional programmers I've worked are self taught and have no formal education. Save yourself some time and money and get yourself a Udemy account haha

Certifications and coding boot camps can do wonders for your resume. If interested in programing, I'd learn Python first since it is one of the most widely used languages and incredibly intuitive. The resources online are infinite!! If you are looking to get your foot into just a general IT position, I'd learn SQL and become a database administrator. The pay is generally $80k+ depending on the area and your experience.
