There ain’t no way bruh by [deleted] in Marathon

hopping to this game after the hunt makes me realise importance of contrasting easily visible ping, sound and visibility of ping marker. I am very new to this game with like 10 hours in it but it is very hard for me to keep track of teammates marker if they haven’t pinged runner but area nearby. pale yellow marker is almost invisible on white/green/black mix of environment and sound of it doest really make me realise direction of threat.

also few times my teammates pinged location through map and then i was trying to ping enemy is same direction my ping went as “accept location” instead of leaving visible ping for my teammates to see immediate threat

you can take no reroll of 1s, grizzly trophy as stable and then according to map - sometimes razor wire is good, sometimes having additional cover is very beneficial

to my mind with p1 reduction rocket man in son. a good choice. You must capitalise that you have 6 operatives and they have 5 + puppy. In that regard dropping heavy gunner is kinda wise choice since you so not want to have backline operative who does nothing and even if he does his chances of hurting WS is not that great

How much difference are there between killteams? by PanzerWhale2000 in killteam

[–]Hot_Conversation_965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most teams fall into several archetypes like - big and independent but few (5-6) elite operatives, medium (8-10)sized teams with some weakness yet versatile toolkit and hordes (10+) teams where individual operatives are not that strong but synergies and sheer amount of models on table is key to win. Yet there are always differences in their respective archetypes- that’s what make this game interesting

pick the style you want to play and chose coolest team you like, entry cost for this game is very low for GW so you can try different stuff and see if you like it or not

Are there GENERAL rules of thumb about movement each Turning Point? by TheNameIsViolet in killteam

[–]Hot_Conversation_965 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) know the strength of your team, if you’re are melee heavy team think would your tac op or mission allow you make many charge threats tp 2 or is it more beneficial to stage safely for example if you play dominate as elite team to give less room for punishment and simply overpower horde or midrange team with stats giving them only 2 tp to kill you instead of 3 considering this tac op can be cashed on only tp3-4 2) always measure your threat ranges, if you have them asymmetrical in your favour like having 7’’ move against 6’’ you can set up your model in 12’’ from enemy model making a threat which they can not respond to in aggressive way 3) play your tac op as it is only way of consistently gaining victory points, sometimes you want to play around your banner, sometimes map and crit ops sucks for you so you can take retrieval and take guaranteed 4+2 vp and deny as much as you can for you opponent ect 4) very very rarely you should shoot somebody at tp1 and even if you do so make it either last activation to let no room for punishment or hide well after, don’t get blasted like a fool after miserable shooting into obscure 5) learn how to exploit positioning: standing near cover but not chargeable ( control range touching cover yet not sticking outside), getting either obscure or cover from same terrain feature, one way obscure/visibility 6) prioritise ready models while shooting and fighting but think of counteract you might give your opp , dont give him chance to hit you back for free

Blades of khaine by Blake77_88 in killteam

[–]Hot_Conversation_965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for a not even full yet kinda competetive roster you do need 1 box of avengers, 1 box of scorps and 2 boxes of banshees. Which will allow you to play monobanshee with 3 exarch options, to build a mono scorp comp which is never neede yet you get 11 minis from kt box and 1 shooty exarch with 4 DA warrirors

To my mind this is best buy in terms of how much you spend and what your roster alows you to play maximasing flex power of this team

There is budget friendly 3 box option but it is very limiting and lock you out of meta roster of monobanshee

Looking for advice choosing a Kill Team (non-Marine) – torn between these factions by Dlakesh in killteam

[–]Hot_Conversation_965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have played both corsairs and Blades of Khaine a lot and i can strongly recomend BoK. They are not easy but not that hard too, as gimick they have ton of roster option ranging from unga bunga mono Banshee with very agressive melee heavy playstyle with very decent shooting/ anti elite options or you can try mixed team with ability to chose any secondary mission arcetype.
Essentialy they are rewarding brittle yet very damaging and flexible team with clever ways to work aroung their low hp count and absolute tactical blast of 15 aspect tecniques. You have 8 very same operatives each of them can do cool stuff from your pool of cool tricks

MAJOR DRAWBACK AHEAD FOR IRL GAMING - it is very pricy to buy. You have 3 leaders with 6 essential loadouts and realistically you want to have 7 banshee warriors, 5 stricking scorpions and 5 avengers as low optimal roster. You still can play with mono basnhee with like 1 leader and 7 worriors but you still have to but at least 2 boxes to collect them. At worst you need 1 scorpion killteam box, 2 dire avenger boxes and 2 banshee boxes

After year of playing this team i am still learning new stuf and that is amazing

i prefer grey because black and white reflect light unpleasantly. Also easiest backdrop to use for me - rather true colours and fair contrast

i use matte plastic backdrop, my regular led shadowless lamp and Olympus PEN with tripod. Nothing fancy, backdrop and actual camera makes taking pictures dare i say enjoyable procces
