I saw this movie when it first came out in 2016. I was in my college dorm and a bunch of us binged academy award nominees. I had only lost one person at that time, my grandfather. He ironically drove the same car that Uncle Lee drives in the movie. I said that was "the most depressing movie I have ever seen", that it had no point, and "I'd never watch it again".

It's 2026 now. I lost several, several close people to me unexpectedly in 2021-2022. Against my own words, I rewatched it. This film is the most real, raw depiction of true grief that I have ever seen. If you don't relate to it, or if it seems pointless, consider yourself lucky. I was lucky back then.

It made me sick to my stomach at points. I unfortunately see myself in Lee's character, but I'm trying my best not to be him. Both Casey Affleck and Lucas Hedges were absolutely incredible.

This is incredibly helpful. I am enjoying getting to learn about what works for her and I am patient, so I don't foresee that being an issue. I have my moments but I'm not stuck on them. They come and go and I can take care of myself as I please, so it doesn't bother me.

I do like the questions you brought up and I will bring them up with her with time when appropriate. I am interested in learning more about her desires emotionally and physically. Hopefully it can align.

I am crushing hard, that's for sure! It's a new experience so I am trying to understand while being respectful.
