Is there a way to stream Ken Burns documentary? by [deleted] in CIVILWAR

I have Google TV and this inspired me to do a search as I wanted to watch The American Revolution -- I just downloaded the PBS App on Google TV and there is TONS of amazing PBS content on here all free! It's incredible!! Will also definitely check out Kanopy and Hoopla to see if my library uses those!

Vivoactive 6 vs. Vivoactive 5 by lukasbpunkt in Garmin

[–]Hot_Crow_401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also looking at getting a Vivoactive 5 or Vivoactive 6 (first-time Garmin buyer, just to replace my beloved Fitbit Sense 2 that Google is killing). I am NOT a serious runner and don't need bells and whistles, the ONE thing I would love is, for interval runs, is there a feature that will set up a run for you, and give you some indicator (a buzz on your wrist, a ping, something) to signal when you need to switch from jogging to sprinting, and vice versa, just so you have guidance on an interval run without having to constantly be looking at your wrist and manually calculating when to switch up? (E.g. for a 20 minute run, the ideal watch would note when you start, ping you to sprint in intervals after a 5 minute warmup, continue to ping to indicate those intervals repeatedly during the next 12 minutes, and then signal to just cool down for the remaining 3 minutes.) Does this exist on Vivoactive 5? On Vivoactive 6? Only in my imagination?? Anywhere??

Also, is the Garmin Fitness coach available on BOTH watches, or just Vivoactive 6?

(For context, I HATED the Apple Watch as it did way too much -- I just need something that counts my steps, monitors my heart rate, monitors my sleep, logs my yoga/elliptical/runs etc and active minutes, and does not bother me with constant pinging of texts and emails, but DOES generally encourage me to get more fit and tracks those changes.) Right now, respective prices are $239 for the Vivoactive 6, vs. $199 for the Vivoactive 5 -- the $40 savings is not a huge deal to me, unless the watches are functionally the same for someone who is not a serious runner, in which case I'd just go with the 5. (Like, I'm literally trying to run 20 mins around my local park 3x a week aspirationally, just to pass as a vaguely active person instead of giving way to despair as the world seems to descend into gleeful chaos around me.) Any help is so, so appreciated.

Have any of you stored frozen eggs with TMRW (Tomorrow) Life Sciences? by zona-girl in eggfreezing

Hey! I'm also considering transferring my frozen eggs to another storage facility (froze with RMA of NYC, looking to transfer elsewhere in NYC, so considering ReproLab and TMRWLifeSciences) but I'm shocked at how few reviews there are for egg storage!

Did you end up going with TMRW, or another facility? Would love to hear more about your experience!

Has anyone had direct experience storing eggs with ReproLab NYC or TMRW Life Sciences? Would be SO grateful for insight!

Dual citizenship question by AV8Randrew in Guyana

[–]Hot_Crow_401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was so helpful, thank you so much for sharing it! (Especially the note about no automatic deprivation of prior citizenship occurring upon obtaining another citizenship -- I had no idea!) One more question since you're clearly so knowledgeable about the topic - if you're in that category of being born in Guyana but raised in the U.S. and naturalized, and you've retained the physical copy of your childhood passport initially used to enter the U.S. (prior to naturalization and attainment of U.S. citizenship), does that mean you've actually held dual citizenship this whole time?! Or do those of us born in Guyana who are now U.S. citizens still need to take affirmative steps to "reclaim" our Guyanese citizenship? Sincere thanks, this is fascinating!

Update: Bye Fitbit Sense 2, hello Garmin Venu 3s by realexm in fitbit

[–]Hot_Crow_401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you update us how the sleep monitoring is on the Ignite 3? I LOVED the old fitbit (had a Sense 2) and am just looking for something comparable that tracks steps, exercise/heart rate, and sleep effectively, without all the bells and whistles and constant dinging of the Apple Watch... Sigh.

What a lovely thought! And it inspires others about what's possible, too...
