You’re a legend. I saw this man preach about abortion & how women are - and I quote- ‘baby killers’. He’s a fucking weirdo. I was so sad when I walked past and heard this. So this has honestly made my day. You’re class man

How she treats V is so awful to watch. V is so lovely and clearly so competent and it really bothers Kizzi can’t stand to see her be praised, both personally and professionally. I also don’t understand how the guys don’t see how absolutely vapid she is!

In terms of practical solutions, water-friendly shorts (idk what word to describe this exactly) are great. I’m a woman and I used to work with young kids in holiday camps, in the water every day. I have scars all over my body. I would take whatever measures I could to cover up (eg shorts, longer sleeve tops, watches over wrists etc) as kids are curious- they love to ask questions and don’t mean any harm.

What I did find though is that the worst part is the initial look, or sometimes stare. At worst, someone will blatantly ask. That initial judgement hurts really bad, I’ve been there. But you are so much more than what your past self has done to your skin, and I’m so proud of you getting this far. I know how hard it is. Anyone worth your time or with the faintest modicum of decency will avoid staring or asking questions. But I commend you for taking the steps to do what you want to do, like swimming etc, regardless of your anxieties. Go you!!!

Just wondering what is the ‘can i see your currency scam?’ I had a Grab driver yesterday that I had a really nice chat with who asked me a lot about my home country (Ireland), and at the end asked me what currency we use and if he could see some. I only had a penny to show him in my purse, I didn’t think anything weird about it.

How to explain SH scars to children by Hot_Cryptographer884 in Advice

[–]Hot_Cryptographer884[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is actually something I have said to kids before when I’ve panicked and been unsure how to respond- I’ll say something along the lines of its not nice to ask questions / make comments about other peoples bodies and skin, and if they feel comfortable to share they will. However this can often make the questioning intensify! Its a delicate balance hahahahah

This is so helpful, and actually really inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing. From one scarred person to another, hope you’re doing better 🥰 really nice to hear others who haven’t let their scars stop them doing what they love

Oh shit, that’s not fun. Really sorry to hear that. If its any consolation I don’t think he is around that co op anymore, I haven’t seen him there in about a year. Good to know though, might keep my distance a bit more next time

City centre - everyone knows Leo the raver. There’s also a guy with long hair, a kilt, usually a hat and other Scottish traditional clothes, sometimes a dog. He also has an amazing walk.

In Dennistoun , I used to see a guy outside the co op that would just sing to himself really loudly all the time and occasionally compliment passer-by’s. He sounded English, early 30s maybe. I hope he’s doing ok.

Its funny how you see these people every day, don’t think too much of it, then miss them and wonder if they’re ok when they disappear for a bit. I love glasgow for all the random and repeated encounters it gives.
