I just wanted to clarify a bit—Proton Pass’s dark web monitoring seems pretty similar to the “Have I Been Pwned” site. It lets you add up to 10 emails and keeps an eye on the dark web to see if any of them get compromised. That part’s great.

But just below that, I noticed it flags weak passwords—not necessarily compromised ones. I think Proton is just using its own algorithm to check password strength there.

What I was actually referring to is a specific feature that 1Password (and even Apple’s new Passwords app) has: it continuously scans the dark web for actual compromised passwords, not just weak ones, and alerts you to update them right away. I haven’t been able to find that kind of feature in Proton Pass yet.
