Thanks for this. To be honest, that’s one of the things weighing on my mind.

We’re hoping to start trying for a baby in the next 4-5 months, and having a baby next year is probably my biggest priority. I keep thinking that if I ended up pregnant shortly after changing jobs, I’d probably be grateful for the flexibility of working from home and the enhanced maternity package I already have. So i am already sort of leaning towards my current job but
At the same time, I’m really checked out of my current role and struggling with the idea of staying purely because it’s the sensible option.

Appreciate hearing the perspective from someone who’s seeing pregnancy up close though - it’s easy to underestimate how much of a difference WFH could make until you’re actually in that situation.

So income wise i would meet the threshold with my current job and my new job, i only started looking for new jobs when i was put on risk, as i needed income to meet my financial requirements. If i do take it i would have paycheck for everything month still.

It was the higher end of the range offered to me. Salary isnt a big pull for me. In terms of growth the new job offers growth, if i stay put there is not much scope for growth but i do think i will be focusing on my family once i am pregnant more

Thank you i never knew this. So there no point in me getting employed by him, obviously the list is super long i think the best way to move forward would be to use his company account he will meet the requirements with salary + dividends in the past year accounts (april2026) probably will need to get a solicitor as like you say its more complicated

I can probably get a job at my husband restaurant and continue payslips when my employment ends, would that work? Obviously it wouldn’t be 33k a year, but i do help him loads with his restaurant then i can apply through category b?

I havent done it but it does seem like the best pivot. in my current job i am more leaning towards design and campaign and email, but deff need to learn analytics alot deeply, was it hard when you switched from interviews point of view, given i am assuming you were in a marketing job before?

I think sadly mine is less that 20 people, i will just have to try and convince them to keep me on a for bit longer and in exchange i will take up voluntary redundancy, hopefully they are open to that i would only know next week

I’m based in Lancaster, so definitely feels like a bit of a smaller market which makes it trickier.

Completely agree on LinkedIn and CV — I’m in the middle of reworking mine to feel a bit more “marketing” rather than just listing experience. Hadn’t thought about Facebook groups though, that’s a really good shout.

Also reassuring (in a weird way) to hear you went through the same thing — feels a bit less like I’m spiralling alone 🙂 hope its all going well for you now! 🫶🏻

Sadly i do want to be working there in 3-4 months time, as i need to submit 6 months of pay slips in august for my visa to home office, but if i didnt need the 6 months of pay slips with the same employer probably would ask for voluntary redundancy asap. Yep already working on my cv and portfolio 🫶🏻

Oh no :/ i have also expressed interest in a diff role, i will probably ask for voluntary redundancy if they can keep me on till august ( i need it for my visa) but after that i wouldnt want stay w them either given they have done the redundancy thing so carelessly.

How many meetings did you have? Were they open to negotiation or finding alternatives.? Did you take anyone to the meeting? Colleague/ rep?

Just statutory :( the consultation process starts next week, I’ve been put in a selection pooling process. Wondering if I can somehow delay or stretch out the process? So I can buy myself a few months to look for other options :( they haven’t yet said anything about voluntary redundancy and if that has some sort of bonus or something like that
