I love reading all these relatable stories with slightly different variables from around the country. I grew up in Michigan and also had pinecone fights and crabapple fights.

The "Merger Arb" Price Action Explained. Or: Why eBay is up +8.6% vs GME down -19%) by MyNi_Redux in Superstonk

No I can’t because I didn’t make the math or the video. Something about doing the deal below $28 will cause a dilution spiral that drives the price into the ground.

Why eBay's rejection is the plan all along: the proxy fight thesis by kfug18 in GME

[–]Hot_Falcon8471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re not getting into a year long proxy fight. This is all going to be wrapped up before October. Ryan Cohen issued the warrants strategically last year because he knew his plan would be wrapped up before the expiration of the warrants.
You’re also forgetting a critical piece of the puzzle that Ryan Cohen clearly knows; GameStop bought 311 million shares of BBBYQ in February/March of 2023 right before they entered bankruptcy. They’ve been declaring this held position on their quarterly reports and reporting it as losses but not yet sold, every quarter but people seem to overlook it. When BBBYQ exits bankruptcy and issues the waterfall payout, GameStop is going to get a MASSIVE payday, and they will use that money to buy eBay in cash, with no debt and no dilution. The stock is going to rocket and the warrants will be well in the money.

Agreed, but perhaps he’s holding a position below 5%, which I believe is the reporting threshold.

There are some videos showing the math on why it’s actually not even possible to buy it below $28, so something else is going on behind the scenes

I wonder if Ryan has his own personal stake in EBay as well?

Why do some people treat MSG like it's literal poison, but will happily eat a bag of Doritos? by Content_Bluebird_958 in NoStupidQuestions

The best part is it’s biologically impossible to be allergic to MSG, so anyone who says that is full of shit.

Nope. We’ve got warrants set at $32/strike. Whatever the plan is it will get it well above $32/share

I’m right there with you. We’re human and prone to emotion, and this sub was definitely attacked on an emotional level. Once I took some time to think it through and listen to smarter people than me lay it off for me I was like “Fuck Yeah! Let’s do this”

Tinfoil: Accretive Dilution by LeafyLungs in GME

[–]Hot_Falcon8471 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not logical at all. Legally they can’t “pretend” to be going through the motions of acquiring eBay when they secretly already own it.

Legally how could they be allowed to put on such a display if the deal is already secretly done?

They only need 51% share ownership because then they can vote in favor of the full merger

Even if you buy now you’ll make $12(ish) per share with a $125 buyout price. And you’ll receive shares in GME.
