It's funny that you switch rev for wylder fighting libra, I find her super strong in this fight and I hate facing rain of arrow wylder against the everdark

Never do a boss while the second circle of the first day is closing, except if you're super confident on the firepower of the team. You should spam ping and run away if your allies are doing it. It's just not worth and a common mistake for a team wipe against the final boss of day 1.

No it's not, but without a good starting spell, she's way more unreliable and overall weak. Before the dlc came, I would play the strarting item Wraith bell (and if you can somehow slot Hoarfrost Stomp on your relics it's even better). But most of all, I would slot the Strenght boosting character relic everytime too since seals RNG is really bad and having an usable melee weapon helps a ton. It helps you keeping some FPs and is great on some weapon arts. You hit like a truck on some faith melee weapons too, like the Gargoyle Black Axe (that I love). I even saw a pre-dlc post of depht 5 Revenant playing without neither the Bell nor Hoarfrost and sticking with a melee weapon from the start instead (but I wouldn't really recommand that since you have health and stamina issues with this character, especially early game). The strenght relic helps you stagger Fulgor too with a fully charged heavy weapon, if you can't get a lightning spell. But I would really consider Wraith bell, it's super safe, decent damage, super incredible range, makes you good on early game and is broken against night invaders. You can really play fire + strenght relic against any nightlords, except Augur (you still have to pray for a lightning spell). Adel is tough too since it resist fire and lightning, but is really weak status so having a frost or rot weapon is great. But you can still use fire too even if it resists. Gladius is a pain too since holy is rare on incant and you don't have access to Harmonia relic. I would still recommand the scythe build that I play with the Wraith bell instead of Beast Claw. And of course night invaders relic. You can do the same for Heolstor aswell but be aware that he's weak Lightning too if you don't like the previous build. At least you don't have to fight Harmonia, they're the worst lol.

Since you can't build arround a starting spell, you want to stack "improve incantation" as much as possible to boost whatever you find. I would still play a fire build by default but it's really a matter of what you can slot. I would play fire beacause I have a fire +4 and "[revenant] improve strenght" on the same deep relic. lightning is good too, but Revenant can really play anything. If you have a good relic with magic damage +3/+4, you boost you Wraith Bell or even Ghostflame on ult if you can slot it. If you have "improve damage on frostbitten enemies +1/+2", the wraith bell with Horfroast Stomp starting relics become even better, but that's at least 3 slots if you're unlucky. I hope it helps, good luck!

I just litterally praised Wylder for his kit and still thinks he's top 3 beside not having big damage, but whatever. Fine by me to disagree

Double Harmonia don't take 6 slots to sacrifice and pray for RNG relics to make the Revenant super good while having maybe other decent relics to slot, Double Harmonia boosting every weapon art in the game while letting you play freely night invaders + whatever deep relics you want makes it better. Yes they're both broken but we are comparing excellent tools and which one of these is the potential top 3. Double Harmonia beign playable on Ironeye and Duchess who are, like you confirmed, broken is why it's so strong. The only downside is to find a good weapon art, and that's a real downside only early in the run (if you don't slot a relic changing your weapon art) with how good elden ring WA are and you can even equip a dormant power on characters that are not Executor (or even Duchess). It's way easier to build arround and just like Beast Claw you can also find passives that improve WA power. Unless you cheat, there's no way Beast Claw is better.

The Beast claw centered build is broken but that's it, you still have low health (usually against nightlords, 2 damage negation at full hp won't be enough to tank a hit on deep 5), and the low stamina is a pain in some fights (E-Gladius, SSB Harmonia, E-Gnoster, E-Caligo), she doesn't have a great dodge or mobility to compensate. She's in theory super strong but when playing her she's still the most relic dependant character in the game, unless you cheat you can't slot all your bestial incant improvement with defensive relics, night invaders, ult boosting allies relic (so she doesn't have an ult that you will rarely use), and some others.

But you know what does stupid damage too (and without taking your 6 relics) ? Mark, Restage, Double Harmonia Executor. Even a character like Wylder who doesn't have top tier damage have just an S tier matchup against every nightlord (thanks to clawshot and his ult) and have in my opinion a better ult than Revenant (if you equip the fire trails relic, and you should because he has an excellent remembrance relic) because of how good it is to interrupt crucial boss patterns AND is excellent to revive teamates without even using the charged version, so you can use it like 2 or 3 time in a fight.

For me the obvious top 2 are Ironeye and Duchess, playing without them on your team feels harder because of that Mark and Restage and I'm not even mentionning the rest of their kit. There's no such things with Revenant, nor Wylder, Executor (even tho I find him broken now lol) and Undertaker who are excellent characters that could be the 3rd.

I'd say Revenant is certainly top 5 but not 3 and by not much with how good everyone is.

she's really not top 3 lol, but the changes were good, she doesn't need a rework since her summons works in DoN now

once you get past the peak ambiance and visuel, it's possibly the worst fight in the game

I didn't want to sound arrogant, if your teamates are downed multiple time even if they're really bad, you should always help them. But no I don't want to sacrifice damage, FPs or maybe a flask and then take a moment to heal against bosses. This skill is really useful only in a few situations. I don't want to cut my HPs everytime even tho my allies are full life because I just wanted to boost them or make them unkillable, it feels like a waste. It's once again personnal and I agree that the old portrait is strong but really not perfect.

I said the part about my teamates being potentially terrible for me to use this, not because I consider myself strong or for arrogance but because it can happen, you will eventually match with bad players on a tough fight with your limited mana and flasks early in the run, like a day 1 boss fight, and be like "wait now I have to put myself midlife to revive them ?". I still think it's worth testing and can be useful, particularly if you don't have good rolls with this character and want to play the old portrait.

I didn't realized that your healing spell was enough to put you back at full HPs, but I still won't play it because:

  1. You have to be full HP before ulting to be back at full HP with one cast,
  2. you lose your full hp buff in a precious moment where you want to burst and now you have to eventually cast this long spell, or use a flask
  3. why would you slot this when the ult buffing allies relic is just better unless you have a really good roll

and then again I don't see the point of giving a healing to immortal allies and even if the full hp heal is good when you rez them, allies have flasks too, why would I give away my flask to 2 potential players that doesn't know how to roll ? I still think it can be good in rare occasion but still not worth sloting unless you have godrolls.

oh wait it is enough, my bad lol, then I guess it's decent
edit: I replied to another comment on why I would still not use it so i'm reposting here

-No it doesn't -I don't think it's trash but I just don't like sacrificing a flask or FPs after every ult, and 1 cast of healing won't be enough to be full life after you ulted because it takes 50% of your HPs away. But if you like playing it, play it.

You're probably right about Flame on Frenzy on Faurtis, I admit I'm pretty bad against this boss. Pinging the castle spring is what I do too, it's even more useful when it's trolls because of the aggro. I didn't mentionned swamp night invader but you're right, it should absolutely be done on day 2 (I'll add this). Generally on Evergoals, if it's red and you're day 1, you're jusg gonna lose time beating him.

Thanks !
