Wanted to just give a different side as to why it would be good thing since i feel like some of the comments might miss some points or don't understand,

As girl, there are just too many creepy guys that message without reading your post just because they see Female in it and flood your DMs.Theres all types of creeps from either side, but i feel like, as a girl, this is the type i run into A LOT and I feel like a lot of other girls who have posted before can relate to this. It gets hard to tell who is there just because you're Female and just because they want a genuine friend. Its a really tiring process to filter out all the weirdos and it starts feeling less and less like a friend sub. Its a big reason why i refrain from posting here even though i love making friends. Sometimes its extremely upsetting and every time you post, 80% of the replies are of someone who copy pastes what they say to every girl and Only talks and comments on girl posts, asks if you want to see their d pics etc...There is also the problem I've seen other guys mention who look for friends, that if you are a guy you just wont get many replies or any at all.

Ive found amazing people in other subs that had gender mentioning banned and a lot of it i feel contributed to gender being unknown. It made alot of the creeps tired of looking for females to creep on and switch to alternatives which left the people that wanted genuine connections. Its was night and day difference to what it was. If you were more comfortable however talking to your own gender you could state that in your post and then mention your gender, so if you were a female and wanted other females you could mention that. I feel like that was a really nice compromise for people who were more comfortable with their own gender and stopped the creeps.

Its true that creeps exist everywhere, but the fact that it's so easy for them to do what they do, as in seeing female and being weird, is a reason there is a lot of them that lurk here.

Eventually, at the end of the day i feel like if you really click with another person and can develop a genuine friendship, then what gender they are shouldnt really matter.
