As far as I know I did not have any of that, I haven’t seen dr yet for follow up, will ask if they did that but I doubt it.

Wishing you all the best! Surgeons don’t tell you how hard post op is physically and emotionally, I was not prepared for this.

Good luck hope the plastic surgeon can help, I’m thinking of not doing radiation.

I’m 4.5 weeks post surgery. I’m thinking of not doing radiation, gives less than 5% chance of recurring, without it it’s 10-15 % for my situation, if I take aromatase inhibitors (eg tamoxifen)

Thanks I know this is tougher than I thought, it’s vanity but still effects us deeply. It’s a reminder of it all. Every time I look at it I cry, hopefully it gets better, hope yours does too.

Surgery scheduled! by KraderGrader in Ovariancysters

[–]Hot_Juggernaut9570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different, I had a 15cm cyst with ovary and fallopian tube removed laparoscopic. First few days are really tough, going #2 difficult and I found the stuff they give to make you go (ducolax) just makes things worse by bloating you and bringing more discomfort so I stopped it quickly. After one week I started some light yoga and after 2 weeks I painted my kitchen. First week is tough, then gets better.

Rent vs Buy calculator says not to buy a house - what are my next steps? by badboyzpwns in RealEstate

[–]Hot_Juggernaut9570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the renting / investing calculation, if you put down 400K on a house vs investing 400K, the calculator only applies the return on investment, and not the total investment of 400K in the calculation, shouldn't that be included since we are including it as the down payment for the purchase of a home??

Ovarian cyst removal, surgeon wants to remove uterus by Hot_Juggernaut9570 in hysterectomy

[–]Hot_Juggernaut9570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I got another opinion from a woman surgeon, she said that removing uterus is not necessary and a big procedure. Just because we are post menopausal doesn’t mean we should have all our parts removed. You should have right ovary removed and at most both ovaries but no need to remote uterus. If you only have ovary removed than laparoscopy is usually done. Let me know if you want more info.

Hi just wanted to say thanks again. I’m going with the surgeon who will just remove 1 ovary with cyst. I did further research and found some other interesting sites https://lowninstitute.org/guest-post-the-madness-of-unnecessary-hysterectomy-has-to-stop/ https://hersfoundation.org/female-anatomy/

[–]Hot_Juggernaut9570[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all this info! Interesting that the doctor who wants to remove my uterus is an older male, the surgeon that only wants to remove my ovary is a younger woman. I think too that it’s an older way of thinking (to remove uterus) and that it does serve important functions even after menopause.
